Wow, just heard it myself. All of old Hollywood is pretty much gone now.

She did so much for research into HIV, she put her money where her mouth was for good. Unlike some of todays "stars".

Well, she certainly lived a good long life.

How sad! What a wonderful movie career she had. She's been in poor health for some time, but still sad to hear of her passing.

I heard it here first, wow, she was such a great, classy and elegant woman. Rest peacefully, Liz Taylor

We just watched Cleopatra (again LOL) over the weekend. What a beautiful woman and such a great actress!

One of her children said, "We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for mom having lived in it," and that really says it all.

Rest in peace, Dame Taylor.

I know, she's gorgeous and FABULOUS in the role of Cleopatra.
It's one of my favorite classic movies, and I've watched it dozens of times.

She wasn't just drop-dead gorgeous, she was such a humanitarian--a truly giving, caring woman.
A tiny bit of trivia: she had a small role in the 1943 movie Jane Eyre. She was stunning even then.
They truly don't make "movie stars" like that anymore. The poor woman suffered so much during her life, I hope she's at peace now.

I loved the way she stood by her friends when they were under fire, and stood up for HIV/AIDS patients long before it became socially acceptable to do so. She was loyal and brave and compassionate... which made her even more beautiful.

I was watching a movie with Richard Burton last night. I heard of her passing this morning while driving to work. I mentioned this to a co-worker who didn't know who she was.
I said that her and Richard Burton well think of them as a couple like Angela Jolie and Brad Pitt- a famous couple (but really no comparison).

Is there a collection of her movies? There will probably be one now.

They don't have legends nowadays like her.

I feel so sad. Not for her- she'll be with her true love again, with her friends, and she went with her children around her.
I'm sad for me, for us.

All my icons are gone now. The Old Hollywood I treasure so much. Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Katharine Hepburn, and now Elizabeth Taylor.
I'm only 18, but I've always, always (really, always) identified with the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s more than I do with today. I feel like I should have been a part of that world.
The last person I really loved from that era is gone now and I feel kind of a hole.

I'm sorry, to all of you. This is about beautiful, classy, compassionate, brave Elizabeth Taylor, not me. But with her loss I feel an ever greater loss behind it.
