It's the first spring that Wessie has been inside. In case any of you don't know, Wessie was an outside cat until last year when my neighbor shot him with a BB gun. Luckily is was only in the leg, and he recovered. Here's his recovery video if you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28zcdjtVuL8 That was June 13, of last year.
Anyhow, Wessie has had to stay inside ever since. He used to always try to get outside, but has adjusted to indoor living. He has always been a good cat and hardly ever jumps up on everything. This spring, Wessie has been obsessed with the windows. He is jumping up on the TV to get to the windowsill, and has knocked down things. One was a wooden carving, the other was a metal dinosaur that could have broken something. We removed that from the windowsill so he doesn't knock it over again.
He has also been jumping up on other valuable things to reach windows. He has torn up papers as well. Do you have any tips on how to discourage this new behavior? I believe that it's hard for him staying inside when everyone else gets to go out and enjoy the sunshine. Last year he was outside the most, and now he has to stay in, which is why I think he is trying to reach the windows.
