When I was in high school I babysat for the kids of a former Denver Bronco/Dallas Cowboy football player (that's American football, BTW... ). I still remember one night they were going to some fancy schmancy thing and they had me picked up in their limo. But they were the nicest people... very down to earth.

I don't know anyone famous nowadays though...

Hmmmmm....no, I tweet a lot to celebs not that I generally get replies Timothy Dalton who played James Bond once used to drink in the pub with my mum and dad years ago, I still think he lives not far away. My dad used to be friends with Edwyn Starr the singer, who was a legend.x

This Timothy Dalton? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001096/ from Hot Fuzz? That's so cool!

I good friends with Hugo Girrard, a Canadian strongman champion, and a few players on the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team.

Well, I know some finnish metal artists but you have probably never heard of them so I don't think that counts.. Moonsorrow, anyone?

I know someone who's somewhat famous. He wrote a book called "Anna's Wish. His name is Paul Daniels. I haven't actually talked with him for quite some time now though.

I just found out today that one of our members knows Shawnee Smith, of the Saw movies.

OMG!!!!. Ask him if his parents lived in Walker?. I'm sure it's him, and if it is they lived about 50 yards up the road from mine

I went to school with Chris Cummings, added him on FB and we chatted here and there but he's so into himself and his pictures, blah blah blah so I deleted him

I still talk to his brother Andrew though, we all grew up together.

I knew Paul Lauterbur, a Nobel Prize winner. He was married to my ex-husband's sister. He was a very nice person....extremely intelligent, but very down-to-earth. He passed away about three years ago.

Wow everyone knows someone...I don't.

But I do live within a mile of where Joyce Carol Oates grew up and along the same creek as I have here. In fact, I went to a garage sale at her parents house about 20 years ago, and bought some bath towels.

I have a strange urge to write something when ever I get out of the bath

My tiny hometown of Enumclaw Washington used to be where Stevie Wonder had a summer home.
My older brothers knew him and attended several parties there.

My hubby bummed a cigarette from Nicholas Cage once, said he was a very personable, down to earth guy.

My daughter took some private swim lessons from a 3 time Olympic medalist from the 70's and 80's. He was very cool, even gave her a fleece vest from the Bejing Olympics.

I'm also an acquaintance of the MIL of a famous singer and mom of a famous cowboy here in town. They all seem like very nice people.

My sister worked at a large department store that figure skater Nancy Kerrigan shops at. My sister worked in the lingerie dept and said she had several encounters with her and she is a royal bee-awtch. My sister is not one to hate on people for whomever they may be but couldn't believe how nasty she was...and not just one bad day....several encounters....

I worked at a supermarket as a teen and Brad Delp from the band Boston used to come through my 12 or less aisle. LOL He always bought Boboli pizza...always... quiet guy..he killed himself a few years back, very sad.

Was on a cruise with american footballer Doug Flutie....that was kinda cool. Being from Boston it was kinda a big deal.... Nice guy, approachable.

My family is friends with Shawnee Smith, who was in the Saw movies and Becker. She's really cool, not conceited at all. She doesn't even like to talk about acting. She's also a very good mom.

Yes. And it is very frustrating to do "normal" friend things with them because people always want to come up and take photos, chat, or get a hug

Yay for Saw fans!

Yes, you do! It's pretty good!

Thank you for the compliment on my siggy. I love Elizabeth Taylor so much. It feels weird without my cats there, but I felt I needed to honor her.

I knew her before I even knew she was famous. Every time I saw her I would just stare because I thought she looked so familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it. It clicked later that I was remembering her from Becker.
