I saw today at Wal Mart that they are selling Advantage flea product in their store. Does anyone know if it is safe. I have never used stuff from the store and have always purchase Advantage or Frontline from the vet office. Is this stuff at Wal Mart the real thing.

It's real. Bayer started selling it to Wal-Mart. . .um, last year sometime? I think. IMO, it's too expensive---more than my vet charges and way more than I can buy it for from a reputable retailer online. But it is real.

If you ever buy a product like that and aren't sure if it's real, even if you do buy it from a vet, call the company. A real flea topical will have the lot number and a number from the EPA on it. A Bayer rep (in the case of Advantage) can check those numbers and verify it.

Many vet offices run deals on those products such as buy 4 get one free. Check into your vet's office.

My vet does run those deals, but he still charges a lot. I would compare prices before I buy it. I normally use the Frontline. I was thinking if it was less expensive at Wal Mart, I might treat them year round or at least more often that I do.

Advantage is the one I use because it's the safest for bunnies.
I don't think our walmart sells it, must not be in Canada yet. My vet will let you buy 1 tube at a time which I LOVE....still to do everyone it costs me over $100.00 but can you imagine if I had to buy a 6mth supply for every animal all at once...

I'd have to remortgage my house
