What kind of hot rods do you like?

From the 1920's?

The 1930's?

The 1940's?

The 1950's?

The 1960's?

The 1970's?

Oddballs?

A Daytona/Charger with the wing would catch my eye.

Looks like a fun day, Mike!

Very Cool

There were a couple there, but I didn't take photos of them!

I pretty much like them all, but have been preferring the rat rod style for quite some time now.

I'm headed out in a few minutes to go back up there. Since Stephanie hasn't said her DH wants to go, I'm going to check with one of Dottie's co-workers. I'll try to get a photo of one of them, if I can.

I'm most attracted to the cars from the 50s, 60s, & 70s, but they are all amazing! The time, care, and love poured into them is just unbelievable!

I don't know anything about cars, but I really enjoyed the pictures! The 1950's & 1960's cars were my favorite

Neither of the Dodge Daytonas was there today, but there was a Plymouth Super Bird. I'll post that photo later.

As for the Charger...will this do?

Plymouth Super Bird

Some rat rods for Whiskey's Dad.

And one that looks like a rat rod, but isn't. Notice that even the "worn through" spots are actually clear-coated.

How do you like this one?

This is the Goodguys 2011 giveaway car. They have a car built to prove some point, using their sponsors, and then at the end of the season, they give it away.

This looks like a 1955 Chevy convertible, doesn't it? In fact, it's a 2011 vehicle with full EPA compliance. Not a single old piece on it. The body, frame, engine, and running gear are all brand-new. The object of the build this year is to prove that a careful (and deep-pocketed) builder can even comply with California's strict new regulations.

"So," I hear you ask, "how do they choose who gets the car?"

I'm glad you asked.

A group of about 20 finalists will be chosen through the show season, which ends at the final show in November in Scottsdale, AZ. One finalist is chosen at random from all the members of the club. One member is chosen at random from all those members who register online. And one finalist is chosen at each of the 18 shows this summer. To qualify, a member has to be registered at the show, have his car registered and present, fill out his "Lucky Sunday Ticket," put the ticket in the barrel at the stage where all the awards are given no earlier than 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, just before the awards are started, have his ticket pulled at random, and be present and respond promptly to his name being called at the end of the awards presentation. Lots of rules!

Guess whose name got called today?

The 1950's?

My very first car was a very used 1956 Chevy Bel Aire - blue. Your pic is a '55, but brings back memories!

Sorry you missed the Daytonas but the Charger looks fantastic! (BIL had a '71).
