Fudge's reaction with the catnip pillow

Hi all
Fudge has just started to take an interest in out kwayzee catnip pillow, I only discovered this as she scared me to death earlier. I was sat down having a cup of tea when I heard her meowing really loudly like she was in severe pain, I ran into the kitchen to see what the matter is as I really worry about her (she has 3 legs and is very nervous) well I found her with the catnip pillow in her mouth and she looked at me as if to say "what? why are you looking at me, I haven't done anything wrong" Really though, it shocked me and she has been doing the same for the past half hour, really high pitched and sounding like she is in severe distress. None of the other cats do this, I have never experienced this before. Is it normal or is she having some kind of bad reaction?Sorry If I sound dumb but I worry about her as she has just started making real progress with her nervousness.
Thanks.xx

My mother cat, Slick, will go upstairs in the washbasket and bring down old dirty socks. She "calls" her two kids, Beeshee Marie and Fetch like she is bringing them food!!

She drags the socks down the stairs all the time calling them really loud. It does sound like she is in pain, but that is how they call others to say "Look what I found for you!" YUK!

Ootay did this with her crumpled cigarette packs. I never could tell if they were "baby" or "prey".

She would fish one out of the toy box and carry it around making the most awful caterwauling sounds. I always called it the "Dying Goose Noise". But it was her favorite thing to do and she did it all her life, right up until her last stroke.

I think Fudge has just discovered a new fun Game, and you do not have to worry, it's just her thing.

I have a yowler, too. She doesn't necessarily need a toy in her mouth to yowl, either.
With Siri, she's trying to get our attention.

If Fudge is normally quiet, then maybe the catnip loosened her up a bit. That and similar toys will probably become her favorites so make sure she always has them. If you can find some good strong catnip, sprinkle a couple pinches on the floor for her to roll in.It'll help de-stress her a bit.

Ming Loy does this with her little furry mice. Scared the heck out of us the first time - but someone at TCS had JUST posted about their kitty doing the same thing, so we didn't stay freaked out.

Smooch does it with his pink mouse only that toy though

Hennessy does this with toys, socks, gloves... even sweatshirts and bath towels. We've gotten used to it, generally just asking him what he has instead of 'what's wrong' like we used to do. Once he brought up fourteen socks in a night, making a big production of each one. (He steals them out of the laundry hampers).

Fluffy does this with catnip sticks but his mew is so tiny you can't hear him.

Thankyou, panic over I think she must think its her "baby" then, I tell she she looked at me in complete and utter confusion when I looked at her with concern. I think I will have to buy her her own kwayzee catnip pillow where she can have it all to herself.x
