Please for all of you that do not like feeding your cats dry food keep your comments to yourself. If I had time I would feed him and my domestics a raw diet. But I can not.

Also I am sorry for being absent so much. I have been working different hours. Plus owning a Savannah seems to be like owning a small child or raccoon. Hence always busy .

Thanks all for your input on this and when I was battling the feline herpes issues.

Hi. I do love that EVO dry cat food. I had my cats on that last year but still was having really loose poops from Pipsqueak, but I love the ingredients!! I do feed EVO wet food and mix it in with the dry Wellness Core. So far, normal poops for over eight months now!!! So I know how you feel when you finally find a food that works so well for you cat and normal poops are a daily occurence

Hi Feralvr,

I am sorry the Evo did not work that well for your cats. But I am VERY glad that you found something that works for all your cats. What type of wet Evo food do you use? When I say type I mean flavor really ?

Thank you again for responding.

Does this brand seem to help with the shedding? Pixie shedds alot and she has long hair and gets hairballs often. So I am trying to find a good food that helps with that and is nutritionally sound.

Hi Tavia'smom,

My F3 Savannah is of course a short hair and so are two of the three domestics. My one domestic long hair seems to shed less then my domestic short hairs . But it seems to have helped the domestic short hairs shed less.

I can say that this food has made all of there coats more shiny/vibe rent. Sorry I could not be more helpful .

I fed Evo dry to my ferrets for years but not the cat since she gets wet or raw, however she loves the dry kibble and would often steal some when I made the ferret mix. She didn't care if it was dog ,cat, or ferret kinds, liked them all. I feed her the canned 95% chicken/turkey Evo which she loves and comes in large cans which is great. She's eaten the other flavors of canned but she hates the venison and beef (the dogs were thrilled though) and was so so on the duck.

Pixie will not eat wet food, which is something new for me and she will not even eat moist treats not really sure why but that leaves wet food out even though I would rather give her wet food so I have to find a REALLY good dry food. If anyone knows of a way to get her to eat the wet food please let me know.

You should know (if you didn't already) that the company that makes Evo, Natura, was bought by Proctor & Gamble last year.

Evo was one of the dry food in my rotation, but I stopped purchasing it after the buyout. Like everything a large corporation has its hands on, profit always trumps quality.

Mitsy wouldn't eat wet food for the longest time. I have since started adding water to make it the consistency of a thick gravy and she loves it. I have 2 other cats and I do 1 wet food feeding per day. 1 5.5 oz can between all three and 2 feedings of Purina DM twice daily. Mitsy is diabetic so we don't really have to many choices. I am just glad she is finally on board with eating wet food once daily.

Here is the original thread that was created following the news of the buy-out.

Hi Cosabella,

Thank you very much .

Hmm, well if Evo goes South, Blue's Wilderness formula appears to be similar.

Thats what my furballs are on. They still seem to shed a lot, but their coats are definitely soft and shiny which I like. Most importantly like you, Buttercup doesn't have mushy stools on it and they like it, and thats very important. Not only bad for her, but stressful for both of us when stepping on mushy poo by accident in the litterbox which can be stinky. They still get wet food though sometime between their 5AM and 10PM dry food autofeeder (big plate of various wet flavors Natural Choice complete care, Avoderm, Wellness, whatever happens to be on sale that is decent quality).

I was nervous about the buy out, but the quality, location, and ingredients have not changed a bit. Nor do they plan to change them.

As of now it is still safe to buy.

I feed EVO to my ferrets, and my cats and had the same concern when the buyout happened. Some friends of mine actually went an purchased every bag of EVO they could find in their areas because of all the concerns. I have to agree though, so far there hasnt been a change in anything. That doesnt mean Im not still watching them and checking things though. I dont trust P&G and as soon as EVO profits drop even a bit Im sure they will try to do some crazy cost cutting measures, even if it's not "Planned". But, it's been nearly a year now and so far so good.

So, My point is EVO is still fine. But, just like anything, always watch for changes they may make to the ingredients, or even the sources of the ingredients.

Hi All,

I just got my first bag of Evo dry cat food since the company changed ownership. I had saved the original bag but my Savannah destroyed it .

If what I first posted is correct then the ingredients/percentages have NOT changed. But again I do not have the "old" bag. So maybe somone could tell me ?

Thanks all.
