Hi, I wanted to bounce something off of everyone, see if they have any insight. I've had two cats living together for 10 years without any single issue. One was Alpha, one wasn't and for 10 years that's the way it's always been. Alpha has her spot on my bed and not-Alpha has a spot on a cushion bed.
A few weeks ago I got out of my chair and accidently stepped on not-alpha's tale with Alpha standing right beside. Ever since then, Alpha has been amazingly upset with me, clawing up my leg, hostility, etc and non-alpha has taken the spot on the bed. When Alpha cools down, all she does is either sit on my desk or attacks non-alpha on my bed. It's almost like there's been a reversal. This has been going on for weeks with random screams and fights...all over territory...
Alpha seems to be suffering the most. 10 years of peace and now this...not sure if to break it up or not....Alpha is terrifying in this mode though, totally can rip apart someone's leg. Not Alpha is just scared for her life when this happens. Not Alpha also seldomly leaves the bed spot anymore.
Thoughts?
