What are you looking forward to the most with Spring coming?

It's a beautiful morning here and Dana and I are going to go for a walk this afternoon. Now that the snow is melting we are really looking forward to getting outside a lot more.

Other than some warmer temperatures for walking, I love to see the flowers. We have a lot of daffodils and tulips in the yard. Lots of grape hyacinths, although we dug many of them up last year and gave them to my sister when we created the flower garden in the front yard. I love forsythia bushes when they're bursting yellow with color. The flowering trees are so pretty when I'm out walking. Nothing compares to that spring green color on emerging leaves. Everything just looks so fresh and new.

One thing I like is the smells. Every now and then something sweet will drift through the yard. I just want to stand there and take deep breaths. The woods are loaded with wild roses. The breeze smells like cinnamon.

And those spring peepers that you hear in the night. Taking the caulk off and opening the windows! The kitties all fight for window space.

Letting them out into their enclosure for the first time. They are all poking around and sniffing every corner. Then you see them laying in a sunbeam.

About 2pm going out to the yard swing with a beverage and just watching for the woodchucks who live on the far slope of the gully. They are all grizzled up from sleeping all winter. The hummingbirds....oh for petes sake, I could go on and on!

I just love everything!

Warmer temps and going outside with the kids. I hate it outside in the Winter if I have nothing to do. In the Spring/Summer they can be out on the trampoline or just playing. I can sit and relax with a book in the sun.

Walking, I walk all Winter as well but I hate getting cold and wet.

I don't like the cold, so warmer temps. But then it gets hot quickly and I can't function in that.

I guess it would be May 6th (give or take a couple days). That's when my turtles come up. The first week always makes me worry, though, because there's always a slow turtle that takes a little longer to come up. Every year I'm afraid one won't make it. So when they all do, I'm so glad to see them.

Spring and Summer aren't my favorite times of the year. But I do like the humming birds. Set up a feeder 1 year just to see. We got a ton that year. They are so cute! We put the feeder on our window, so we can really get a good look at them. Most of the time things have to be quiet for them to stay, but there have been a couple that will stay and eat even if I'm talking to them. Should have seen
Lynxx
when he saw his first humming bird. He had a look on his face like he was trying to figure out if that was real food, or his imagination.
Luna and Midnight haven't seen a humming bird yet. I don't trust these 2, I think they'll jump at the window to get them

Not having to wear a jacket all the time, flip flops, tanks and skirts...I love light clothing!

I'm a winter gal, but around about this time, I have to admit, I'm looking for some warm sun on my face. Just being able to go out, running or whatever, without putting on layers.

Also, it's my first spring and summer since I've lost weight, so I'm really looking forward to putting on my summer clothes that I haven't been able to wear for years!!!
(I kept them....I knew I'd eventually get back into them.)

I'm looking forward to not worrying about Lucy so much! Lucy is my chihuahua who is recovering from pneumonia and pleurisy, and the cold makes her so much worse since she has trouble controlling her body heat. The warmth will help her.

Besides Lucy, I'm looking forward to the first half of spring. In Arizona it doesn't get as cold as it does in other places, but as a desert girl, I get cold at anything less than 65 degrees. :p The first half of spring here is pefect, but then it just gets hot.
