I know some of you in Canada won't agree, especially if you must live in close proximity to them, but I just heard/saw two "v's" of Canada geese fly over my house on their way back to their summer home. It's always very exciting to experience that. Even the cats and dogs had their eyes pointed skyward.

Spring is on the way!!!!

Worse than Canadas are snows and ross - they are even noisier and, believe it or not, dirtier. The only sign of spring here was one warm day followed by a 13+ hour blizzard yesterday...........and a return to below normal temps.

O I love to see them and hear them. We went out for a fish fry last night to a place on the Erie Canal. It was snowing and dark and you could hear them on the water and they were flying in the dark too. DH told me not to look up.

We have them in our creek across the road. One year, my daughter was about 8 months pregnant with her daughter. The geese were trying to cross the road with their babies....well, my daughter shooed them back down the hill. I was stopping traffic. there she was on the slope of the hill tangled in vines helping those geese

My son lives right on the border of the Alabama Swamps here in New York State. It is getting very active there as all the geese stop there to eat.

My friend down the road curses the geese because they get her lawn all a mess. I understand....but I just love to hear them and watch for the "V". It always makes me smile and gives me hope!

Most of the Canada geese in the midwest can overwinter in the Horicon Marsh in south-central Wisconsin. I haven't seem any geese flying but I saw a bunch of robins today (and so did Bender!).

I am on "robin watch" too!

Saw two chipmunks and DH saw a woodchuck. Spring can't be far behind.

I never saw so many geese as I did this past Fall! There were like hundreds of them flying by at at time. Mostly in the early morning, honking away

We've got some good and fat robin's here! (I've seen them Baby-Dancing...) They've been back for a few weeks now. There are several large ponds near my home and sometimes the geese are LOUD when they are all spending the night. It might bother me if it were warm and we were sleeping with windows open; but I don't mind them. The starlings are the most fun though. The cats love when we get a good flock of them in the yard. And it's always been amusing to see a huge flock of them take to flight when cars drive down the road and things like that.

Canada Geese don't bother me either. They are all over our golf course and it's lovely to see them with the little ones following them.

My sign of spring is when I see my first Red-Winged Blackbird and I get very excited because for some reason they make me feel so elated.

One morning, several years ago, I had stopped at the library's book return box to return my books. I heard them, so I got out of my car and searched. And there they were, coming north. I've seen v-shaped flocks before, but this? This was the largest flock I've ever seen in my life! I've never seen so many geese before....the sky was dark with the geese. I just stood there and watched. It brought tears to my eyes and it's something I'll never forget.

We have robins here now and our 15 inches of snow from last week are melted, except in piles at the driveway and along the road. And right behind our house, which doesn't see the sun until late in the afternoon....it's a northern exposure. I want spring (and summer) desperately.

I want to start complaining about how hot and humid it is for a change!

I love them. I especially love seeing the gaggle with a bunch of babies as the tend to group babies of different nests together after hatching...I guess that way the parent geese get to hang out and gossip. As someone who lives in a large city in Canada, it is wierd to see where some of the geese nest (parking lots, etc).

We have alot of them along the Hudson River in Hudson River Park. I see them when I go running. They disappeared when it got really cold and snowy, but now that the snow's all gone, I see them grazing on the grass. It'll get more crowded as the days get warmer.

Then when all the babies come, it's so cute seeing all the little ones following their moms and dads. They all hang out by the park. I have yet to figure out where they nest. There are a bunch of rocks, no beach, so there's river, rocks, and park.

Oh, I love these beautiful guys!! I am fortunate that where I work, they have taken every March/April as nesting grounds, to lay eggs and nest them, on the grassy spots of my dull/meaningless place of employment...but..watch out...THEY ATTACK!! lol, they do and I love them for it, good for them, they are so protective of their offspring/babies, that they are very very aware and can be aggressive, if need be..but they are such gorgeous creatures. Stay away, and give them the space they need, and all will be good

I know. We just watch them in the water, swimming in a line. They keep their families well and truly hidden when they're not in the water. There are times when they're all up on this grassy area, but it's off the path and we all stay behind a railing to watch them. They totally warn you off if they think you're too close. They hiss!!
