Omg I am watching a programme we have on here called Rude Tube, its basically about videos on you tube, there has been alot on cats tonight and this one left me gobsmacked, this woman has 130 cats and my gosh her house looked incredibly clean and so did she and the cats extremely well looked after.I don't think I would have the stamina to clean up after that many cats lol.x

And I thought having eleven cats was a handful!

She must have to do litter box duty at least 10 times a day!

Ok, I originally said it was fake, but I asked DH, who I thought was the person who told me this. I was wrong about the special-effects thing. However, he suggested that it may be a room in an animal shelter, not her apartment. This could be why the cats are at ease around humans, the place is spotless, and they look well-cared for. I did a very quick Net search, and couldn't find anythig to suggest this video is fake.

I guess it really doesn't matter where they live, as long as their needs are well-cared for, etc., though I would have concerns about socialization and over-crowding, etc.

Her cats look obviously very well looked after and the house/place wherever seems very clean and they all seem very content. found this, they DO live at her home

I did have to laugh at some of the comments posted.

Yes her place is really clean for having that many cats. I have seen a lot of that on Animal Planet, a program called Animal Hoarding and believe me, those houses were filthy so this video did surprise me.

I've seen several episodes of the hoarding on Animal Planet. It's all just so sad: not only for the animals involved, but also for the person who has so many emotional issues that they hoard like that.

I wonder how that woman can afford to pay for all the food, litter, and medical care.

It's really nothing to do with the animals. . .if those hoarders didn't have any pets their houses would still be just as bad (minus the animal waste, I suppose). The overabundance of animals is just a symptom of their problems, not the cause.

Honestly, I hate that show (though I still watch it
)--they always make it seem like anybody who has multiple pets is crazy, and that those people would be perfectly normal if they would just get rid of their animals, and that just isn't true.

I think that if I didn't have to work (retired, or independently wealthy or whatever), I could manage that many cats. It would be a full-time job, that's for sure!

I agree 100%! Having multiple pets myself I always get the stereotype which drives me INSANE. Then again, anyone who knows me knows I'm not anywhere close to being a hoarder, and always invite people over if they're interested in seeing how my babies as well as the fosters live.

I think I'll stick with my 10 though.
That's my limit. (Although I think I said that about 8 AND 9?)

Yep! I used to have 10 cats myself (down to "only" 9 now), and I'm sure you can imagine the looks I get when I tell people. One woman, the wife of DH's friend, who had never been in our house, actually wrinkled her nose, and said, "Oohh--your house must SMELL!". (And they have a dog.) I was, and still am, very offended by her comment. My house is much cleaner than most houses that I've seen that either have far fewer cats or no pets. I vacuum at least every other day (I only have 2 large rugs downstairs, and carpet in only 2 rooms up), and I sweep the stairs daily. I only have 1 litter box in the house, due to Marge, my problem child, and that gets dumped, scrubbed & replaced at least once a day, usually twice. I also air the house often, and wash the cat's blankets weekly, and the seat covers every 3 months. I sweep the kitchen floor every night, and it gets mopped at least twice a week.

Yet, my Mom's house smelled far, far worse. She only had 1 cat, and the litter box was in the far end of the house, but you could smell it as soon as you walked in--that, and the smoke. She would keep a plastic litter box for 10 or more years--too cheap to spend $3.97 at WalMart--even though I offered to buy it. She didn't change it weekly--only every 2 weeks. And this woman always told me I'd was a slob, and would make a "lousy housekeeper" when I grew up (and also a "lousy mother").

Sorry to rant--but I, too, hate the stereotype of the "crazy cat lady"!
