Need some of the famous CatSite vibes

On Wednesday, when I got up from sleeping in the truck, I noticed I was a little sore under my left arm, almost like I'd bruised it, but I couldn't recall doing anything. When I got up today, it was a good deal sorer, and I had a lot of swelling in my armpit. I went off to the doctor, and they couldn't figure out what it was, so they sent me for a chest x-ray and tomorrow when I get home from Beaumont, I'm going in for an ultrasound. It keeps getting bigger and sorer!

I'm such a lousy patient...

Keep us updated!! It sounds a lot like an inflamed lymph node, but if it was that drs wouldnt be confused

Sounds like it could be an infection or lyphadema. The armpit area is filled with lymph nodes. Do you have any other areas that are sore? Any red lines showing on the skin there or anywhere else in the neck, groin, chest/abdomen area?

I know you must be worried, most of us are when we don't know what's causing a problem. Get whatever tests done that you have to get done. We are all hoping it's nothing at all, keep us updated.

You said you got this pain after waking up in the truck, could it be you slept on that arm and that's what is causing this pain, could be possible.

Going for an ultrasound this afternoon.

The doctors didn't know what it was. They said not lymph nodes, they thought. Maybe a fatty tumor. Maybe a blood clot. Maybe a hematoma, although it's not colorful.

The ultrasound operator said it looked like a swollen lumph node, and the doctor on duty agreed.

Now they'll just have to decide how to treat it, I guess.

I had a swollen lymph node in my neck/throat, it's one of those things where the doctors just don't know why it's swollen- typically lymph nodes swell whenever your body is fighting a disease/virus, so it's a symptom of something, and when there are no other symptoms it leaves doctors guessing...
My doctor prescribed an antibiotic that was one of those that's used to treat many different types of infections, and I think it was basically a prophilactic type of treatment, in case there is some infection somewhere in my body, the antibiotic was supposed to help, but eventually the swelling went down and I was okay!! It was very painful and very uncomfortable though
I hope it's nothing serious for you either
