I'm going to be starting over with my cats sometime in April. Hopefully it will work but I have some questions-- how does a re-introduction work? Its not like one won't remember the other, so how will this change anything?

I'm going to purchase a tall gate to separate the apartment in halves. All of Norah's toys and kondo's will be going with her side. I'm going to buy pure vanilla extract (when you say put on base of tail, do you guys mean the top or bottom side)?

What about sleeping arrangements? When Odessa was my only cat, she would sleep wherever she wanted-- sometimes that would be on her bed in my room and other times it would be in the living room next to the radiator. Norah likes to sleep on the bed with me. So during the separated/beginning of this re-introduction, where do I put them?

I also read that some people have had success with using a large dog cage with a divider. Apparently its a good way for them to get close without hurting one another. Anyone here use it method?

Odessa doesn't really play like other cats (you dangle a string in front of her and she just stares at you blankly), she prefers to play alone. And since I dont have a screen door thats where the double cage was going to come into play. I'll give them treats. Do you think me dangling the string and playing with Norah in front of Odessa would help Odessa be less afraid of Norah?

because Odessa is the one terrified should I be treating her like the 'new cat' (like instead of putting Norah in a carrier then putting her in the living room where Odessa is, should I try the other way around)?
