Hey Everyone

My name is Brandy and I am owned by 2 cats, soon to be 3.
Kaymen is an almost 9 yr old Tortie and she's the hardest cat to photograph in the world!!

And Kasey who is an almost 2 yr old Torbie

Anyways I have plans to add a 6 mth old Siamese to the mix in April and I am excited and scared all in one....eeeek! Here's the new boy

The breeder is AMAZING and I can't wait to get this boy home but I am a nervous wreck....is he going to get along with my other cats, where he's older I worry that he won't 'adjust' as well. My house is pretty hectic with 3 boys, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 2 bunnies, a hamster, 2 lizards and a snake...

WOW. I'm glad to be here so you can all go through this with me, LOL

Thanks xocats

I actually didn't pick either of my cats. Hubby picked Kaymen when she was just a kitten at the pet store (we didn't know then what we know about the evils of pet stores), he came home and all he talked about was how cool she was, so I told him to go get her.

Then I heard about Kasey from a friend. She was just a kitten as well but living outside in a cage. There was a litter of kittens and once they got to be 6 weeks old the girl put them outside. We have alot of foxes and coyote's around here so she kept them in a cage to "protect" them. It must have been in bad shape because when I asked if I could go see her, she said "No" she would bring her to me. Well of course after she brought her and I seen how skinny and dirty she was there was no way I could say no. Apparently the other 2 kittens weren't growing so she wouldn't give them up.

I've always loved Siamese but everytime I would bring it up to random people all I heard was how awful they are. They're mean, aggressive, dirty, etc etc. Stories of people having to lock them up everytime company comes over, one girl said her friend had one that was so nasty, if you went in before the owner put it away it would stare you down and growl this loud, scary growl that would cover you in goosebumps...like SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!

Then I decided to do my own research....and everything that I've read has been completly opposite of what these people are telling me. I found an amazing breeder and she has this 6 mth old beautiful boy...she says he is so affectionate and talkative and she is sure he will blend in perfectly with my crew as long as introductions are done properly. I've never brought in an older cat, I always thought kittens adjusted so much easier since I do have the 3 dogs and 3 kids which can be overwhelming but I'm reading bigger kittens and cats do fine as well.

I'm so scared to do something wrong...April seems soooooooo very far away.

Welcome to you and your GORGEOUS babies, Brandy!!

Your Siamese boy is stunning... A close friend of mine has 2 Siamese boys (she had 3, but 1 recently passed at 18 years of age.) and they are the sweetest babies EVER. I never understood the stereotype. All kitties are different!

Welcome to TCS. Every cat is different, no matter what the age. And believe me, 6 months is still a kitten, especially in an active breed like siamese.

Keep us updated on the introductions.

Welcome

Your cats are cute

I've never had a Siamese of my own, but the Siamese is the only breed of cat my grandparents ever had. I grew up with their last 1.
