If Iams or Purina products contain sodium nitrate/nitrite?
Specifically Iams original, or Purina Naturals.
Thanks

You'd want to call the manufacturer to be sure. This is from IAMS' website:

Are your diets low in sodium?
Sodium is an essential mineral for life and is not considered harmful, nor does it have a negative effect on blood pressure in normal, healthy dogs. Most of our products contain approximately 0.5% sodium. The sodium is balanced in proper proportions with the other vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

Their ingredients list includes Sodium Bisulfate.

Purina Naturals' ingredients list includes tetra sodium pyrophosphate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), and sodium selenite.

Thanks. The reason I asked is because I have a cat that has had 2 seizures. THe first one was in December, and the second one was 2 nights ago.
Coincidentally he was eating Iams in December and I just started him on Purina Naturals about 2 weeks ago after having been on Nutro. He didn't have any problems with the Nutro, so I'm thinking it must have something to do with the other 2 foods.
I've spoken to the vet, and thankfully they were pretty mild, but I think it has something to do with the food.
