Aw, Charley's a sweetie! Someone posted a link to this video (hosted on youtube) on TCS.... I don't remember when.

There are several members here that have CH kitties. Our Ming Loy is one of them. We call her the weeble that does fall down.

I looooooove CH kitties. When I volunteered at Animal Services, I would always explain to people they are normal in every way except a couple wires that are crossed. They are also referred to as "Wobbly Cats".

Precious little beings to fall in love with!

Hmm, maybe I can find room in my family of 10 cats for a CH cat.

They are precious little beings, they are!

Are you going to adopt one? :-D :-D :-D :-D

Warmly,

Julie O' and the puddy-tats

Hey TCS,

I just found this wonderful video about a condition I'd never heard of - cerebellar hypoplasia that a loving cat owner has made to raise awareness. He has a cat who suffers from it, and he says that a lot of cats are needlessly put to sleep by people who don't recognise that it's not a death sentence.

I figured- my goodness, that's exactly the type of thing that my cat lovin' brothers and sisters at thecatsite.com love - knowing about illnesses that can be treated, cats that can be saved, when sometimes it doesn't look that way from the surface.

Click here to learn about Charley.

Isn't he gorgeous?

Some people also call them "Dandy Walkers," because they walk like a drunk dandy!

There are a lot of videos of them on youtube.

We tell people that our Ming Loy looks like a drunk with Parkinson's. In Ming Loy, it's her front legs that seem to have that kind of "stiffness" and her back end is SO wobbly! And when she's excited about something, she looks like she's going to shake apart! She can't jump... but she can climb!

My husband and I just fell in love with that cat. So cute. Thanks for posting the video, I would have never known about cerebellar hypoplasia without it.

Here's another one, Bebe, who is clearly beloved, well taken care of, in good physical shape, etc.

Bebe

By the way, it can happen to humans, too. Take a look at this video of Holly, a little girl with the problem. Watch the whole video; it's very inspiring.
