Angel Needed Another Surgery

Ok. So this poor little kitten had to have emergency surgery 1 week after having knee surgery.

Angel wasn't healing as to be expected after her knee surgery and became lethargic, not eating, drinking. Then I found a mass on her stomach about the size of a gold ball. I took her in and the vet thought it maybe a hernia. They took xrays and sorta confirmed hernia. Then they began the surgery and found it was a bad abcess. It was unrelated to her knee surgery. It was drained and a tube was put in. And on antibiotics. The vet thought the abscess was really casued by her spaying and a little bacteria was there and became active when her defences were down from her knee surgery, then a week later formed an abscess. Angel is doing much better and sicne the abcess was the source of her pain, can concentrate on healing and recoverying. She wants to climb and go out but becomes fruststated when she can't.

Angel is also very skinny. Ive had a problem getting her to eat kitten food and has basically eatten adult food.. Growth and development is a problem with her. She needs more protein in her diet. Any ideas on suppliments to her regular diet?

Aw the poor baby. I would ask the vet about food. With all her troubles, she should probably be on some special food.

Sending prayers for her. She must be feeling better if she is climbing and wanting out.

Poor Angel having to have 2 surgeries back to back. I hope she heals quickly! Have you tried different brands of kitten food?
