Last night we recieved a visitor in our backyard. She was a pretty light grey and white long-haired kitty, and she was yowling at our backdoor. Luckily none of our cats were outside, so we closed the doggy door so they couldn't get out and beat her up. We have a cat fence that supposedly keeps cats in (though a lot of it's ripped down and our cat Rudy can get over it anyway), but it doesn't do anything to keep cats out, so we thought she was stuck inside our yard. We had another cat get stuck in here before, except that time our cat Loki was out and was terrorizing the poor thing

I tried to lure her close to me with food so I could put her over the fence, but she wouldn't get less than several feet away (which is good in case she runs into any cat-nappers or people not so fond of animals, but it was a little annoying in this case). Even though she wouldn't come near, she was rubbing on the deck furniture and generally being adorable. I wish I could have gotten a picture, she was very pretty and looked well cared for, but I'm sure the flash would have freaked her out.

Anyway, eventually she just disappeared, so she must have made it back over the fence. I think she may have been in heat, but if so she was looking in the wrong place! My cat Jackie may sometimes think that he's not (he'll mount our girl cats), but all of our boys are neutered. If that's the case, shame on her owner for letting a intact cat wander around the neighborhood

All of our cats were staring out the sliding glass window at her, and she was staring right back at them. I thought Neko was going to murder somebody. A 27 lb. cat with a bottle-brush tail and mohawk along his spine is a scary site! Anyway, that's all for my storytime tonight, just thought I'd share
