I can see lawn in some places where the snow has melted!

Hmm... I planted daffodil bulbs in September, I think, and they're not coming up yet!! Maybe it's because we don't have freezing winters here? I don't know. We do have some sort of bulb things sprouting up in random areas of the garden though, I can't wait to find out what they are!! (We moved in august so I don't know what the previous people had.)

I can't see anything but a sea of white except where I managed to scrape down to ice on the lane and where I chopped through rock hard snow to dirt by the barn door. Everything is buried under at least 3" of whitebleep and more on the way. Not even a sign of spring here, no prairie horned larks (come back this time of year, if they leave), no tree buds swelling, nothing, just snow. I want spring, NOW!!!

I got nothing! Weather is just starting to warm up but we get sudden temp. plunges below 30 degrees.....Patiently waiting to start my roof top garden back up

What spring?!?! It's supposed to snow 6 - 12" Mon/Tue/Wed (light snow Mon w/ the real storm Tues into Wed)!
It's -12C here atm, no signs of spring. Well, I guess the sun has shown itself few times lately.

no daffodils here yet. At least they aren't blooming. I won't believe it's spring until the redbuds start blooming. THEN I'll have hope! lol.

The last few days here have been gorgeous then we woke up to rain this morning. It rained until around 1:00, then sleet, then snow, now it's back to rain. And it's supposed to be freezing rain tonight here with 3-6 inches of snow overnight where I work. Fun.

I have seen some signs of spring though. The geese are flying back north (stupid birds), and someone at work did see a robin the other day. And the deer are just going crazy here! Our work complex was randomly placed in the middle of the woods on the highest mountain they could find around here (hence the 3-6 inches tonight) but the nice thing is we can watch the wildlife from the windows. One of the really nice days last week we had a herd of about 10 deer wandering through the woods on the other side of the parking lot, and when I went out to leave, there were four young one playing "keep away", chasing each other and literally kicking up their heels and having a grand old time! So, that's a good sign!

We took the motorhome for a little ride out to east Texas yesterday and this morning.

I saw the first bluebird of the season!

Let's see - signs of spring in NYC. Chey is right, temps keep dipping, but Saturday was nice for awhile and I got the first feel of spring. On my run in Central Park, I noticed all the snow is gone, and the park seemed pristine - still brown, and no leaves, but pristine and clean, and there were ducks and geese on the lake!

I'm a winter person, but along about now is when I really do long for the daffodils and the birds and the sun - longing for some sun beating down on my face, and just throwing on the shorts and t-shirt to go running. Come on, spring!!!

I'll tell you how spring is coming along at my place, right after I get back in from shoveling!
Nothing yet, but in a couple of weeks the daffs will be starting, I am sure and very, very hopeful

It rained all weekend and is raining today, meaning above freezing temps and snow being washed away, woooohoooo!

There is no spring here yet. Yesterday I saw a Mini Cooper sitting in a parking lot next to a mound of snow that was easily twice as big as the car! (and that massive snow fell on Feb.1!)

There is a wee bit of spring in my spare bedroom where I've started some flower seeds

I am sure there are daffodils , but they are under 6 feet of snow. I don't think I will be seeing them for a while
post #20 of 24
We had two feet of snow on the ground but the last two days we have had pouring rain and fog..I have a mud driveway and am starting to see some small patches lawn. My spring flowers are in bloom in may..

No blue birds here. Unless they are blue from the cold.

Yesterday it rained all day. It washed away all the pretty white snow and left the dirty stuff on the side of the roads.

Today it was warm enough to melt the ice in the pot holes. It would have been a car wash day if the roads weren't all wet and sloppy.

Now it's all frozen again and the roads are slippery.

Maybe tomorrow will be warmer.

Dottie's sister and two of her nieces live in NH. They've been complaining about the winter all winter. Imagine that!

I just tell them Dottie and I are the smart ones in the family!

I can't wait for spring. Thought it was coming on Saturday as it was raining all day. Went to bed Saturday night to the sound of rain on the windows and woke up to 3-4 inches of snow...I was not impressed! It has been a rough and cold winter. We have had more snow and cold weather advisories then I can ever remember.
15 inches of snow! I am not amused.
