Okay so everyone has given me good advice on what to feed my kitties. But since I'll have to do a trail and error thing with the Canned food as well as Dry. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of the JUNKIE Wet&Dry food as well as a list of THE GOOD stuff in Wet&Dry? My other question is say I am at a store looking for food for the Kitties what would I be looking for ingred rise? I want to get them ALL on good food cause I know Sophie could use better food and I want to start the kittens off right health rise since I know food as a lot to do with it. Thanks so much

Welcome to TCS, KitKat! The Feline Nutrition Education Society (feline-nutrition.org) has a good article on pet food ingredients and reading pet food labels.

It's in their "Features" section and is titled, "Reading a Pet Food Ingredient Label."

Best regards.

The right choice is going to vary on many things... the Biggest whether or not Kitty like it and does well( good stools , shiny eyes and coat)...

Are you wanting Generally accepted "junk " ingredients ? IMHO artificial and natural flavors , artificial colors and by products in a dry food

Hi there KitKat! Keep in mind that cats are carnivores so a higher protein content is important for your meezers. Firstly, I don't know of any pet food company that would intentionally put anything in their food that would harm your cat. That said; I'll give you my experience. All of my cats, including the feral cat, have thrived on Nutro Max Cat dry and wet food. I free feed them the dry food. Twice a day I split a 3oz. can of Nutro Max or Nutro Indoor Complete Care canned food 4 ways. The feral cat gets a whole can twice a day. I base what I feed on the needs of my cats. The next thing you might want to consider is who actually makes the food for the company? I know Nutro has their own manufactuing plants and buys all of their own ingredients and tests them twice before the food hits the shelves. For me, it is important that the company selling the food makes it themselves. Cats are picky eaters but most cats will immediately take to the Nutro Max or Nutro Complete Care food products.

Very right on! An all natural product is important to me as well. The food will be more digestible, the kitty will be able to absorb more of the nutrients it needs if the product is free of additives and fillers. There will also be less waste in the litter box because the kitty's body is absorbing the nutrients it needs and eliminating less.
