My laptop died :(

The stupid thing has been telling me to replace the battery for months and I haven't because it's been plugged in. Now I think the a/c adapter has gone out because the laptop is DEAD. It will turn on briefly tell me that the battery is critically low and hit f1 to continue. I do that and then it tries to boot up and then it just dies.

I ordered a new battery and a new a/c adapter. I hope that's all that's wrong with it.

The most annoying part is all of my new pictures are on the laptop and need to be transferred to the external drive. I can't get to my pictures!

I hate computers, I never have any luck with them. My laptop died a few weeks ago, trying to replace it. Is your laptop the only place you have those pictures stored?

Oh my heart goes out to you! The little connector thingy where the a/c charger plugs in on my laptop got very loose - I finally had to take it in. I bought the protection plan or whatever you call it with the laptop - but for that problem they took the laptop for three weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new parts are all it takes!

Me too! Yep, I had just taken the pictures off the camera the day before the thing died on me. I always clear the camera out when I upload them.

Thank you! I ordered the parts and they are supposed to be here either next week or the week after. I didn't spend extra on the shipping. I really hope that the parts will solve the problem. Computers can be so frustrating!

My desktop, which is what I'm on now, is on the fritz too. The power supply in it is going out. I have the part for it but I have to buy a non-magnetic screw driver and a grounding strap before I can change it out. I hope the desktop lives a bit longer so I can get the laptop working again. Sigh....
