I took Spike for a routine dental and blood work yesterday. this morning he was still falling over from the anesthesia, took him back to vet all vitals are fine, and he should have processed the anesthesia. Brought him back home, and he is still wobbly. The vet doesn't know why, except he is not processing the anesthesia, he is not getting rid of it. he is still wobbly, I am so mad that I had a dental done, he didn't have that much tartar. It is now over 24 hours since he had it, he is not getting any better. the vet says to call tomorrow, I am soo worried. they gave him fluids, and syringed some food. I just tried to syringe, but he resisted, didn't get much in him. will do it again later, with a better grip on him.
Has anyone had this experience?

had surgery to remove a tumor and it took the better part of 48 hours for him to be able to walk without falling over. I was so mad that the vet released him to us in that condition. I slept on the floor with him for 2 days and offered him food wherever he was every couple of hours. He ate a little.

I now know never to give my cat oral antibiotics again - it was very distressing when he would not eat.
