A State of Confusion
Monday, we had a big line of thunderstorms roll through that caused widespread flooding. My apartment had a little water run in and I had to tear out the carpet in my office. Instead of putting down more carpet, I asked our maintenance man to just paint the concrete floors so I wouldn't have to hassle with the carpet if it ever happened again. On Wednesday, the floor was dry enough for the maintenance man to come by and paint. He did it right after I left for work in the morning. When I came home after work, the first thing I noticed were little green paw prints leading out of the office. There were also some paw prints in the paint in one of the corners of the office. I decided to see if I could figure out who the culprit was by looking at their paws. Promise and Tiny's paws looked normal, but when I grabbed Thufir to look, his paws looked like one of those green scrubby pads because of all the paint. I had to spend 15 minutes cutting the worst of it off, and even after that they're still fairly green.
The good news is that he's ready for St. Patty's day.

Here's the room after I pulled the carpet up. The suspect is plotting his work.

Here is the freshly-painted floor.

Suspicious paw prints leading out of the office.

And prints in the paint over in the corner.

Trying to look innocent.

Busted!

Oh no!
Thufir I hope it was worth the artistic expression to endure the cleanup!

Thanks. Not to worry, there was no real damage. We just had between 2 and 5 inches of rain come down in a couple of hours, and it came down so fast the drainage system couldn't keep up. I have one piece of furniture that's slightly damaged, but that's just because it's a cheap pressed-wood piece of crap. The solid wood piece beside it wasn't damaged at all. Moving everything out of the room and back in again was a pain, but I'm just about finished with it now.

No doubt about it. He's super helpful. He always likes to help me with projects like making my bed by lying on it while I'm trying to put the new sheets on.

omg that just made my entire week!

What a cute little painter you have!

Glad he is ok - some kitties try to lick the paint off and end up sick.

I swear that was the best thing I have seen in ages.

Snicker snort! The pictures of him being held up with his paws in the air are hilarious. Thufir is goooorgeous, and the green really complements his fur.

Sorry about the flooding. Glad there wasn't too much damage..

We had a cat who walked through thin-set mortar as we were trying to lay tile. Didn't even know he'd done it until I noticed little paw prints in the mortar

He was all black so you wouldn't have been able to see that he'd walked in it anyhow........
