the cat would sometimes poop out of the litter box also and always had blood in her poop was this the cause of uti also?

I sent a poop sample with her when they got the uti test but they didnt find anything the second time other than she may have worms but they werent sure

could it be the UTI? can uti make them poop out of the litter box and cause blood in it?

THEy wont let me de worm her!! until 2 weeks

Yes, a UTI could cause the pooping outside the box. If there was some bright red blood on the pook that could be from straining (just like people). Hills CD is prescription food often prescribed for urinary issues...my boy is on it has he had struvite crystals. My girl eats it too - it's also ok as a maintenance food. I'd have a very hard time feeding them separately.

The ingredients may not look great to us as lay people, but the stuff works.

Work with the vet regarding how much to feed of the CD - it's a pretty rich food so they can gain weight if you feed too large an amount. My vet was very good at working out the amounts with me.

Good luck to you and your cat - UTIs are very uncomfortable!

Maybe this will be too much info for others… But have you ever went to the bathroom and had a BM that was difficult to pass? Kitties can get that, too, and when one strains a lot it can cause small fissues (tears) in the rectum. That cause small amount of bright blood.

So the next question would be is: what are you cat's stool like? Are they very firm? Or does she get diarrhea often?

What strange_wings said - a small amount of bright red blood outside the poo is often nothing to worry about, unless it happens all the time (for humans or cats)...it's dark blood in the poo that you worry about right away.

If your kitty hurt when she pee'd (and probably did, from the UTI), she might have associated the box with hurting her, and then didn't want to poo or pee until she absolutely had to - and then the bowel movement might have been bigger than normal, or harder, and then she had the small tears.

It's something to mention to the vet, but normally isn't anything too worrisome unless it happens over and over.

Hope you're both feeling better.

her temperment is better her activity is better also she is def more "comfortable" and her litter box always has something to clean every day
