jericho loves the empty toothbrush package and my empty plastic nebulizer tubes..i assume because they make a noise when his paws "smack" them across the floor

i think he likes those more than any toy weve bought him!

OH, and of course our hands and feet lol

elastic hair ties...He spots those from miles away and takes them from me

The Wallpaper. For scritching...

Why they covered a pet-friendly apartment complex in textured paper with a soft-non-finish that greatly resembles a cat scratcher cardboard thingie is beyond me...

Walter loves those little things you stick into an electrical outlet to keep a baby from sticking their fingers in it. lol It's one of his favorite toys!

Lilly likes to play with ice cubes, she will come running when she hears me digging into the ice tray. She hopes I will drop one. LOL

I hope you put them away. There was a kitty here a while ago who had an obstruction and when they opened her up they found a belly full of hair ties.

Mazy and Queen Eva like the plastic seal-wrap that comes on certain bottles. When you take it off it's in a little circle and they will play with it until it is smashed and unrecognizable.

Ootay liked crumpled cigarette packs. I guess that's not so strange though. I quit smoking almost 12 years ago, but she had her favorites from before I quit. She fished them out of the toy box and carried them around in her mouth making this (what I always called) Dying Goose sound. It was hilarious.

I still have them, I couldn't bear to throw them away.

Midnight goes nuts over pens and pencils. We have to keep them in a draw, he spots them a mile away. If he gets 1, we'll never ever see it again

The rings from milk jugs...that is not so strange tho.

I so miss my Boomer.

Before I knew I was pregnant with my son, he would bring up my old baby things from the basement storage. He only brought up items that had blue on them.

He did the same with my daughter. Any pink stuffed animal we had in storage, he brought upstairs with a stomp and a meow.

Whisky's favorite toy when he was younger was a straightened out metal clothes hanger! He would wrap his paws around that and rub his face on it. I also used it for him to chase around. When he got older, he pretty much forgot about it...about 7-8.

Patch LOVES crumpled up paper!

Um, why are you warning her about the risks of a cat eating hair ties then go on to say that you give your cats easily to eat plastic to play with?! Mine try to steal that too if DH hasn't been careful, they then try to eat it...

There's not much in the way of trash or non-toy like items left out. If it could be eaten and shouldn't, it will not be left out. So the closest it pieces of food - a dropped slice of carrot, a stray piece of pasta, or a piece of cereal is about it. I'm extra paranoid after Blann's stunt when he was little.

Pipsqueak loves those small eye makeup applicators. When I am putting on my makeup, he is always there trying to get those out of my makeup container. I always let him play with one while I am getting ready.

Ice, Pens, Ice cream pail handle, Hair pins, Nail scissors

*no, he is not allowed to play with some of those but he sure tries! lol*

Are you able to find them when he's done?

Sometimes...sometimes not. lol The sound of him playing with them on the floor drives me nuts, so I usually take them away before I go crazy. lol

Aluminum foil balls! He chases them, romps around with them, kicks them, jumps on them, and has so much fun with them.

I read through all of the posts and how funny that none of them are anything you would purchase as a toy! I always say the free toys are the best toys. But like many mentioned, you have to watch out for their safety when playing with many of these things.
Maia's favorite strange toy is me! She has outgrown her crazy likes for the most part. She still goes for the occasional shoe lace, as long as I'm on the other end

Loki loves DH's USED socks and boxer shorts. Yuck. I once found him rolling on the bedroom floor (after stealing dirty boxer shorts from the basket), clutching and rubbing himself on the boxer shorts. It was kinda creepy. I really felt I wasn't supposed to see that, and so I gave him some privacy.

Years ago we had a kitty named Tumbles...though she loved her Bergen Turbo Scratcher, her favorite "toy" was her food...we had wood floors and she would take kibble from her bowl and smack it around the room!

I loved watching her chase the bits...when they would go under her scratching mat it was fun watching her stick those paws under and attack. Whenever I would vacuum "her" room, and look under the mats, I would always think "If your Daddy knew how much food you wasted..."

Anyway...our cat now, Britches, loves when we play "Peacock Feather" or with the Cat Dancer. Much as I try I just can't get her interested in solo play...but, I like the interactive playtime!

Zazzles loves my dirty socks.

She will steal them out of the laundry even though she has plenty of toys and plenty of socks that I've given to her to play with.

I used to buy colourful and patterned socks. Now I have to just buy all white socks so I don't end up with all odd socks
