A bunch of new pics of Genever & Dorothy

We had the Aerobed in the spare room when my mom was here 2 weeks ago- it was a hit with the cats, especially in the afternoon sun!

Notice the brown areas on Genever's chest/shoulder... what is this all about? Why is she changing colors???

A few days ago while I was at school, BF took these..

Genever says, "I think I'm gonna wash Dot's face while she's not looking. It's been a while."

Dot says "Aww, not now, I'm trying to relax here!"

"See what I have to put up with everyday?" -or-
"Yeah, she's cleaning me face. You got a problem with that?"

And lastly, BF and the girls hanging out on the new sofa. (No, he's not drinking 2 beers, one of them is mine. )

Wow!! They look like they've always been together. What a fantastic little pair they make

Awwwwww!! Dot has totally made herself at home!!! That's so great to see!

They look like they are getting along SO well!

It is so odd that the camera can pick up (or create) coloring and features that we don't see with our eyes.

Oh, and I have to say that the appropriate caption on this one would be something like... "Who farted?"

You know, both cats settled in really quickly when we adopted them, within a day or 2. Of course when Dorothy came home, Genever was upset for a few days, but even that passed quickly and, well, you've seen the photos!

It's not just photos that show brown on Genever. She is really turning brown in real life! A month or so ago I really started to notice it, first just in certain lighting, but now I can see it no matter what. It seems almost as if in those areas her fur is brownish on the tips and then grey/silvery toward the root. (I am not technical about coloring terms, sorry. )

Erica smooch goes a market colour some days when his dark ginger is very intense and dark dunno why it happens he goes the opposite way to and can look very blonde

Aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just so pleased for all of you that Dot's integration went so smoothly and quickly!

Wow! Dorothy looks like she's always been there. Great pics of your fabu gals (and guy). Some cats darken as they age, but I would have thought Dorothy would be past that at her age. At any rate, they are both beautiful.

They are beautiful cats Wish my 2 would cuddle together

As for changing colors, Midnight did. He started off as an all black cat.

Thanks... Dot's been the same since we got her, though we haven't had her long obviously. It's 3 year old Genever who is changing colors the past month or 2.. getting some brownish areas around her chest.. strangeness. But that's ok, I don't mind if she's blue or brown or any other color, she's just awesome.

D'oh! Reading comprehension fail on my part. Sorry about that. Genever's gaw-jus, no matter what color her shoulder is!

I think it's just wonderful that your two ladies have become fast friends. It's all worked out perfectly. What a beautiful pair they are!

Erica, is G-cat spending a lot of time in windows where there's a lot of sun shining in on her? Sometimes, when Whisper (our grey kitty) will lay in the sunny window for hours, her grey fur becomes a brownish color in spots, only her areas are more along her sides. We just thought it was the sun.

Goodness, they are both such beauties, and I LOVE how close they have become so quickly. It was meant to be!

Hmm. Genever does lie in the sun a lot, most of the morning when the sun shines in the kitchen, either on the table , or on the floor. You think it might be like sun bleaching, like our hair can lighten/fade in the sun? Interesting.. Except her sunbathing is not new. But it's a thought, maybe it's built up over time and just now we can finally notice it.
