My Clean PC.Com?

I've been thinking about using that website to scan for viruses & such, but I'm not sure if it's a legitimate website. With all the bogus websites out there now-a-days that you have to be leery of, I'm not sure if I want to attempt using it. Does anyone know if the website is legitimate, or if there is a website similar to that one that can be trusted to use?

We use Malwarebytes on all our computers. It is a free download. The person who keeps our computers up to date installed it on ours. He says it is the best program he has seen in a while. He also said that with his customers, nobody who uses this program has had any viruses or malware slip past it. There is a more advanced version which you can purchase for $25. We eventually did that, but the free version is a good one.

Do not go near it.

Funny story about that commercial. Last summer I was helping out (with my DH) at the local Mars sponsored adoption event. It was extremely hot out come noon, so we went into the plant break room to rest for a bit like most other people were doing. That commercial came on and one of the guys helping at the event who also runs his own computer repair store/tech service in the next town over went on a rant about it and constantly having to fix people's computers after they try that or similar advertised programs.
My DH turned and whispered to me "Hey, he rants like you do about that stuff"

I already have Malwarebytes installed, Barb. But thanks for the suggestion, anyway!

We use Avast, a free download. We tried the supposedly good ones, like Norton, and Trend, which cost $'s. If you set up correctly and use your security settings, that should be sufficient. We don't download free toolbars, or go for the quickie scan stuff. That, IMO just opens your computer up to anything.

I use Avast, too. I also use Malwarebytes for added protection.

I used to download some toolbars when I had my old computer - till I found out that they can cause all kinds of problems. So I quit installing them...

for the input!
