I found the most lovely video of Secretariat running in his paddock. It just gives me a thrill to see this.

I have saved it to my favorites. I so miss being around horses lately. When I need a "horse fix", I go here.

Just google "secretariat...running from within". Hope you enjoy.

Horses are beautiful. There are some across the road from us that belong to a neighbor. I love to watch them. I do not want to ride anything that weighs 3,000 lbs and thinks for itself.

I have two horses and a pony and another on the way and I love my "big girls" my girls think they are big dogs I was sitting here a few minutes ago and had read the title to this thread and was fixing to look at it when I heard something that sounded like thunder and it was my horses running by my windows. As the fence for our yard is shared on three sides of the yard by the horses. The pony is still seperated from them as she is still very skittish and so we need her in a small lot so we can tame her down and she is somewhat ugly at times she kicks and bites. Dad and I both believe that someone has mistreated that poor pony very badly. So I love seeing horses that are cared for like my mares and not mistreated like that little pony was.

What a gorgeous creature! It always amazes me when I see a horse running just for the fun of it. One of my dreams is to have enough land someday to have a horse of my own.
I remember watching Secretariat on tv and falling in love with him.

Thanks for sharing the clip!

Just beautiful!!!!!!! I have had throroughbred's for the last twenty five years, three to be exact, that I took off the race track and brought then up the level's of dressage. I recently sold my upper level FEI dressage thoroughbred, who is out of Mr. Prospector and Seattle Slew. I was so proud of him, because most of the horses in the FEI levels are warmbloods, (Swedish, Oldenburgs, Trakeners, Dutch, etc) TB's have a heart like no other breed!!!!!!!!!!! I am horseless at the moment, taking a step back from it. but still riding and training some. It is in my blood....... There is nothing like it in the world to be on the back of a TB cantering like the wind. And to see them running free is breathtaking!!
