dewclaws

Can anyone offer any help with trimming dewclaws. (I think that's what they're called - the nail on each front paw that is in the back of the paw,away from the other four paws. Maybe they're on the back paws also but I never looked.)

It's all I can do to trim the front four nails on each paw. Should I be doing the dewclaws also?

YES, this little claw can hook and get caught on everything. You kitty could pull the nail out if panicked and hooked! The nail could grow back into the paw if left to grow unhindered causing infection.

If the cat is too wild for you to do alone perhaps a vet or groomer can do it for you.
