Hey Guys, usually I use a swatter because I don't like spraying poison in my home, but today we had the door open for a long time and we have about 20 flies in the house. It's driving me mad and the swatter just isn't working.

Is using fly spray going to affect Mackerel? She has severely reduced kidney function at the moment as well, so I'm especially wary.

I'm thinking that what I would do is get lots of airflow through the house, and shut her in another room while I sprayed the flies, and then waited for an hour or so, and make sure to clean up the dead flies, before I let her back in. What do you think?

I would swat them just to be on the safe side. That fly spray stuff will settle on the floors. I wouldn't want my cat walking around on that.

Put up some fly strips if you need something else, otherwise stick to swatting and let them die off.
Anything toxic enough to quickly kill a fly is bad for you as well as your cat, and there is the possibility of some residue from the spray settling on surfaces where a cat could come in contact with it later.

Look at the extra swatting as bit of exercise. Would that count as cardio?

Because of Mackerel, I'd kill the flies with swatters, I wouldn't keep spraying them, just to be safe.
