Just wanted to request some adoption vibes for Ricky, my neighbor's 11-year-old kitty who lost his home when she moved and no family members were willing to care for him. His brother, Merlin, was adopted into a great home a few weeks ago. Since the boys weren't that closely bonded and due to the challenges of placing one, let alone, two older cats, it wasn't a priority to keep them together.

Now, we're hoping it's Ricky's turn. A woman who has adopted from the rescue before came to meet Ricky last weekend. Because of his age, she wants to have him checked out by her own vet. That's happening today. If everything works out, it looks like Ricky will be going home on Friday.

Please send vibes that all goes well. I haven't met the adopter, but have heard from the director of the rescue that it's a "fantastic" home. She's going to keep me posted and I'm hoping to be able to meet the adopter and be there when Ricky goes home. Everyone at the rescue has fallen in love with Ricky during his time there. He's a big, fluffy, friendly, sweet, demanding, stubborn guy and we're all pulling for him.

Thanks, everybody!

I wish Ricky the best of luck in finding a loving and forever home today. Praying that his vet tests come out negative and shows he is a very healthy kitty for his 11 years.

Major vibes are on the way that Ricky's home will be ready and waiting for him.

It sounds like Walter was a love...
Rest in peace sweet boy.

Thanks, guys.

Heard from the director of the rescue this morning that Ricky will be going home on Friday.
Just waiting to hear what time. Wouldn't miss this for anything!

The news comes amid sadness at the rescue, though. One of kitties, a sweet tuxedo boy named Walter who'd been there since he was a kitten, was PTS yesterday for health reasons. He was only 7 years old and will be greatly missed by the volunteers. RIP sweet boy.

Ricky went to his new home this afternoon.
I stopped at the rescue after work to say my good-bye's and hold the big, sweet fellow once last time. He's going to a great home with another older male kitty named Sammy adopted from the rescue in Aug. He's going to be very loved and spoiled.
He's also going to very much missed by all the volunteers at the rescue. Ricky had everybody in love with him within a couple of days of being there. I'm going to miss him too, but couldn't be happier for him and his adopters. They promise plenty of pics and updates!
