If not you have to find it and get it!! I have it on my iphone and ipad but I'm sure android phones have it too...
It's sooo cute, it's this kitty that repeats words after you and makes you voice higher. While you talk, it puts one ear forward, it's so funny! You can also pet it and it purrs, you can give it a bird or milk...also you can punch it but I don't like that feature..
Anyway it's adorable, you guys have to check it out!

For a bit of fun with your cats, try downloading the cat sounds ringtones app. There are 30 or 40 different cat sounds frmo yowling tom to mewing kittens, and both my cats went nuts for most of them. It was hilarious

Isn't talking tom cat consider malware due to the embedded ads from AdMob that can dial out? (to 900 numbers, or the like, on UK phones iirc?)

You have to try looking up the correct terms. Simply looking up Talking Tom Cat gives sites with downloads. One needs to look up "talking tom cat admob", notice that I included mention of AdMob in my other post so as to make it even easier for people to find the information themselves... Google runs AdMob now, and as always Google has questionable practices.

Is one story. You'll find many more in tech forums from victims of this.

As for a virus/malware scanner. This isn't a virus, it's not a trojan, or anything of the like, thus there's nothing to be found. The problem is the embedded ads within the app used to support it like many free apps have. Some of the ads that come through are harmless, but some are ads to 900 numbers and other things that can easily be mis-touched and dialed.
It's like some sites having pop-ups that are fed from servers and occasionally some pop-ups being ads to scam sites or actually containing a trojan. This isn't new by any means and is (hopefully) the reason most people use pop-up blockers on their computers.

Research before you install anything. Often even the comments on the app itself will mention people having problems with it. The Talking Tom Cat app with dialing out ads has been mentioned on a few tech shows, which is why I know of it.

Yup easy to dial out but on my HTC its very obvious when its going into call mode quite easy to stop it before it does connect (thankfully) and yeah I read all comments before I put any app on my phone unless there's a few thousand then ill check a couple weeks worth

I still wouldn't trust it. Some may not notice and if a child is playing with the app, they certainly wouldn't know.
It just seems like a dirty tactic, which is why people are labeling it malware. I suppose a more correct term would be adware, though that is technically malware.

I don't have that one, though I've seen and heard it. I've got the cat and dog ringtones, and an Android "bathing cat" app that shows your battery level and temperature. The cat "asks" for milk.
