Thanks everyone! You all are so thoughtful and wonderful!

It was very hard for me to take her this morning. I kept wanting to turn around and take her back home, but I knew that this was probably her only shot at having a healthy life.

I will go in this afternoon to see how she is doing, but will keep her there for 2 day because I don't want her to be alone all day and if something happens I have no one to check on her.

I'm hoping by then she will have recovered enough so I can take her home.

I'll keep everyone posted as I find out!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
More for Lexi's surgery & recovery!

And
for you. I know how hard it is to leave an animal at the hospital, but it does sound like the best thing for her.
You might want to drop off a t-shirt that smells like you!!

It will be her left front leg.

Oh, good point! I'll have to look for one since she sleeps with me.

I just talked to the vet and she said she is doing really well. I will be going in about an hour or so to go see her. I want to give her a chance to recover more and they are giving her pain meds every 4 hours.

Considering how major the surgery is - I am glad that I am keeping her there because they can give her those meds as she needs them.

I can't even stand thinking about her being home alone all day and in pain so it works out.

I will take her home Wednesday if all is good to go.

I'll let you know how she is once I see her.

I just came back from the vet and let me tell you...she is doing very well!
I can't believe how alert she is and trying to get up and turn around, etc. She acted normal and just as loving so I am happy to see that she is behaving as she usually does.

They had her on multiple towels to cushion her body and an IV bag in for support for when she lies down. I also took one of my t-shirts and a blanket that she had been lying on. She immediately turned around and put her head on the t-shirt.

I think she is going to be just fine, but will keep her seperated from my other cats until she can get her balance back.

I will post pictures and keep you updated.

Ive been anxious to get an update....so glad to hear she is doing well. Glad you took your shirt to her. Now she can "sleep" with you tonight.

Prayers and thoughts to you two. Hope her recovery goes just as well!
