I am new to be OWNED by a cat. I recently adopted a 2 year old male indoor cat. He has been great and gets along well with our other animals. He drinks from his own water bowl as well as our dog's water bowl. He eats 1/8 cup Blue Buffalo dry food with 1/2 can of Blue Buffalo wet food in the morning and 1/4 cup of Blue buffalo dry at night. How often do cats urinate and poop? Abraham urinates 2X per day on average and poops 1X per day. Is this typical???

The pooping part sounds about right. Depending on the size of the pee puddles, twice a day sounds good. Each cat is different and what's 'normal' for one cat may not be normal for another. Keep an eye on your cat and look for any change in the routine.

My big white tomcat uses his litter only three times a day also -- twice to tinkle and once to poop. He has bigger urine clumps than the others and this is normal for him. He is named Pikachu and is 5 1/2 years old.

He did have one UTI and it was instantly noticeable that he was in trouble. Pikachu began to tinkle anywhere on the carpet so I rushed him to my veterinarian for injections for inflammation and antibiotic. All my cats take clavamox and uva ursi for UTIs and recover in a few days.

Goodness, Pikachu is gawgeous!! My Perla is starting to get a very tiny grey spot on the top of her head.... Anyway, all kitties pee a little different. You just have to find out what is normal for them and keep a watch on the size of the clumps in the litter box. If you see alot of small clumps of urine, someone is going too much and might need to have a check-up
Pipsqueak goes about twice a day and has a very large urine clump afterwards. The kittens go a bit more and don't hold as long as Pipsqueak does...
