Hi all, well I've not been on here that much lately, I've been more of a lurker than a poster, been so busy, kids are on school hols this week and that's been nice not having to rush around. It seems so long since I talked to any of you properely and there just has been that much going on in my life lately. My nan who is in heart failure since 3 heart attacks 2 years ago was admitted to hospital last week for fluid on her lungs, they drained that and she was in until yesterday and pleased to report she is tons better, she couldn't breather properely before hand and she is so stubborn she left it right until the last minute to seek treatment but she's doing well now.
Dh's grandad who has terminal lung cancer has been very ill and slowly going down hill, he is very confused and the doctor told mil he has weeks left, I reckon from the way he is a couple of weeks, he hardly doesn anything. He lives on his own and family and carers care for him but we want him in a hospice or a home really as he needs people there 24/7 which is impossible at the minute. We are sad but he has been ill for 14 months and he lost his wife last november and she is greatly missed, he hasn't been happy since she went and to be honest I am suprised he has lasted this long.
More bad crap
dh has been laid off work indefinetely which means no money and with 3 kids that's just so bad we will be really struggling, I don't know how we are going to manage, hopefully he will be back at work really soon and plus he drives me mad at home

Sorry its all morbid and down things that I have updated on but I needed a release if you know what I mean, all you here are very good when I need to talk and rant
xx

Thankyou everyone, you are all very kind I'm fine really. The thing with dh's grandad is we knew it was going to happen but its still terrible when it does but he misses his wife so much and doesn't really have any quality of life at the moment.
My nan I know will continue to improve daily, she's a very strong lady and she has so much love and support.
Dh is still employed by his company and at the minute they are still paying him for 8 hours work a day mon-fri until normal work resumes, it won't be much, less than half of what we're used to but its good of them to pay it, that's just the economy at the minute, hardly any work, I don't want him to lose his job there completely as the money is fantastic but we'll see what happens. I have been told we can claim some help towards rent at the minute, maybe only £20 a week but its something, although I hate doing that as I feel as though I am sponging off the state but then again dh has probably paid enough tax this year to cover it
Its just simple things like before I could go to the supermarket and sort of put in what we needed now we are going to have to really tighten our belts but it could be worse and others manage so we will. x

Ruth, so sorry to hear of all the difficult things you are going through, and I hope it improves. The situation in the UK right now is awful for so many people, but you are strong and you have a wonderful family around you and I hope you can all pull through this. Good vibes for all of you.

It's good to see you back.

Why do all these things happen at once it seems? We can go along just fine and then.....bang....everything starts going downhill.

You seem to have a good attitude and although I know it sounds trite, it does help.

Things are so bad all over these days. If it helps, you are in good company.

Lets hope that better times will come with better weather. Things seem to open up in the spring and turn around sometimes.

God bless.

As he is employed still by his company he can't just leave and find another job (well he could but the company would come down on him hard) as its a temporary thing, its so annoying but its in his contract, he has a meeting on tuesday to see if they can perhaps find him something else to do while there is no driving work. I am having trouble sleeping and worrying about money, the kids dinner money is just under £20 a week and I like them to have a hot cooked meal each day, allsorts of things that we take for granted have just hit me like kids clothes, shoes e.t.c.., we pay out so much each week and we will be losing almost £300 a week I have worked out, its alot of cash but never mind I know there are people worse off than us out there, we will just have to tighten our belts a bit. Thanks for all your kind replies.x
