What brought you to TCS?

Was it just a love of kitties - or was it a question, a problem... an accident you found the site?

For us, it was kittens turning up in the yard, and no shelters being even nice, let alone helpful. We needed to know what to do!

Not sure.
Probably the love of my spoiled pink kitty.

I was looking for advice on how to get my cat to play! The more I stuck around, the more I learned. I am SO glad I found this forum, because Holland is the first cat I've ever had, and I have learned SO much about cat care and cat behaviors here. Plus, it's nice to know I'm not the only crazy one who spoils my kitty rotten and recognizes that she IS a member of my family. A very, very, VERY important member.

I joined TCS to get more views on my blog. I realized that I really liked it, though!

Trying to get Lynxx, to get along with Luna and Midnight. Back then we were still with our original vet, who was blaming everything happening to Lynxx on the kittens. We know the kittens didn't cause Lynxx to die, but we never found out what made him so sick. Then had all other questions about the kittens, never had more than 1 cat at a time before, so that's new to me.

I adopted my first cat, Simba Yim, a couple of weeks ago. Being a new cat owner, I wanted to share my questions, stories, and pictures (lots of pictures... ) I was browsing the internet to find cat forums that seemed informative and friendly. The rest is history.

Oh - in the end the answer for us was bring them inside as pets. THEN (never having had a cat) I needed TCS to help me know what to do!

It was so long, I don't remember I think I was looking for information about ferals and I found the feral forum. A few weeks later after I had been posting and answering posts, Anne asked me if I would like to be a mod-from there the site just became a part of my life for quite awhile.

I have no idea anymore, although I'd hazard a guess it had to do with cats!

Carly was peeing on the dining room floor. I knew it was because we moved the litter box to the bathroom and she stopped when we moved it back to the spare room but I needed to know how to clean it up. I've stayed ever since and have learned so much about cats.

Bella brought me here, she brought everything good to my life. When she got Lung cancer my DH was online looking for answers and he found TCS

A love of kitties for sure. I wanted to find a place with people who could relare to me and vice versa, and not automatically think I was nuts for the amount of cats I have.

I found this site in 2005 when I had to put down my soulmate cat, Max. My heart was broken and I was badly searching for healing. I have made a lot of friends here. I have learned alot about cats. Thanks everyone for being a part of this cat community.

I was told this is where all the attractive ladies were, so signed up. Also for the cat knowledge.

Forgot how I found the site, but I joined to get it on Caption This.

I had just brought poor, homeless, frightened-of-life Scaredy in, and she was trying to rip the heck out of Mickey, and had this whole place in an uproar.

Time and patience pretty much healed that one, but I've got to say this: I have had cats my entire life, and thought I knew stuff. I have learned so much on this site (and some of it causes me pain, because there may have been different options for my kitties if I'd only known...). For that, I thank you all.

What a trip! This was my very first post.... http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181178

I found TCS when I was going through a very rough time and wanted to share my friendship with an amazing kitty, Sweety, who passed away shortly there after. It was all the support and kind words I received from everyone here that made me realize the new family I had found.

I forst joined TSC because I couldn't find any info on the internet about what was wrong with Genever- she dug and dug and dug in the litterbox, scratched the sides and ceiling of the cover, dug some more... for, oh, 10 minutes at the minimum every time she went. I never had a cat who scratched adn dug that long. All I could find related to litterbox issues had to do with cats going outside the box, so I had to join to be able to ask my question here. And I found out from your replies that G-cat isn't so abnormal, that lots of cats dig to China, they're all different in their habits. And from there I stayed.

Thanks for a good (almost) 2 years!!

I went and she stayed My friend really wanted me to take her along, but I am a good advice taker when it comes to the kitties - I followed TCS member's advice... She did really well though, no harm done. I do wish I had a cat I could travel with... I feel pretty lonely on my trips, and it would be cool - who knows one day I will get one and will train since kittenhood to go in the car and plane with me? Gracie is a GREAT rider and I think she would travel well, but she is so old, I am afraid of things going wrong on the road. The other ones all freak out big time!

It really does depend upon the temperament of the cat, and there are traveling kitties! There's the couple walking from Florida to South America with their cat; there's someone who rescued a kitty while camping, and she goes on all their hiking and camping trips now. There's kitties that love going for bike rides (motorbike and/or bicycle) - there's the kitty in NY that "rides" around on her daddy's head!

Rob's 15 year old cat Tigger had hyperthyroidism and I was looking into I-131 treatment. Unfortuntaly, she passed away the day after the treatment was administered due to fluid in her lungs that went unnoticed

Been around ever since though, as we adopted 2 kittens a few weeks after that, and now we have 4 furbabies (3 with us, 1 stayed with the in-laws behind us).

Moochie had the runs so I was searching the internet. They were about 11 weeks old or so at the time and had only been with us maybe a week.

Actually it was really funny when it happened....DH didn't know and he picked up little tiny Mooch and her back paw left a big brown streak down the front of his white t-shirt! LOL! She got her first bath right after that while DH changed!
