Would You Help a Shell of a Cat? - Page 6

I'm glad the medicine finally came. It was starting to stress me out that it was taking so long.

So hoping it does the trick for dear little Shell.

Ok, PHEW the medicine has arrived. I sure hope these meds will help Miss Shell. Sorry she had such a bad day and that the news wasn't too promising at the vets office. She is a fighter and will push on with everything she has. And she has you MA, right there at her side, come what may...

Is that the most thoughtful thing EVER? She looks VERY happy and cozy in her sweater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, one of the other cats that was in the colony with Shell isn't going to make it at all. She has been consuming most of my time. Her name is Hope and she has the beginning of squamous cell starting, she has no teeth, she's not eating, she's not moving much. Vet puts her age at 15 maybe older. Thought she might make it- but she is done for I am afraid. Neglect has put her in a bad way.

Shell is holding her own. She is doing a lot of sleeping. Her wounds are healing and no new ones are appearing. She is getting a tiny bit of padding now around her ribs, but her backbone still protrudes. Her tongue is still sticking out of her mouth at times, but the deep putrid drool is gone that was hanging out of her mouth. She goes back to the vet next week so they can draw blood and test her values.

Here's a more recent photo of her:

She was gifted this wonderful blanket by someone who won it on another auction, and she absolutely loves it. So do I! Nice and soft, offers her comfort when I am not around- she always goes back to it after she eats.

I have been told the next auction starts in two days time. Wonderful items going up on this round as well.

Oh MA, she looks so much cleaner and her face has filled out. I am so sorry Hope isn't going to make it. So much to be happy for with Shell, but so sad for Hope.

God bless little Hope and Shell. I will be watching the second round. Things tight lately, should be in better position to get something this time.

Shell is holding her own. What a tiny little trooper she is!! I am very very sorry to hear about Hope. MA, they can't all be saved and at least Hope knew great love in her last days.

Shell looks wonderful and that hairy blanket is great. I won my hairy blanket on Shells auction. The blanket will have a very special meaning to me. Can't wait to get it. Extending many more prayers to you and Shell

Awww, poor Hope. That's just so sad.

Shell looks so much better. I feel really badly for Hope, but I'm glad Shell's doing better.

I'm sorry about Hope

I'm really glad to see Shell is looking much better

Shell is looking great. I really love those Kat Kabins!

Awww Shell...
She really makes my heart smile whenever I see her...her eyes, her look reminds me so much of my Cotton when we first got him.

You're really doing such a great thing for her and she's looking much, much better. Lots of continued for you and her and for Hope.

As a non-Paypal person I was suspecting it was going to be a lot trickier than it was.
Good luck with everything. She's a gorgeous cat: I suspect immigration will stop me popping over from England to get her, but she could stay at mine any time she wanted!

Thank you and Hope is rebounding! She is doing much better now, I suspect the meds were making her sick. Her eyes still look horrible and I am out of her eye ointment now so we will just have to see what happens from here.

Yay! That's fantastic news! Way to go, Hope!!

Plenty more for both Shell & Hope!

Well, there is Hope after all! So very happy to hear Hope is pulling through. That conjunctivitis can take a long time. Pixie suffered for two to three weeks with different eye meds. She finally just got better. Sending for Hope.

AND more for Miss Shell too

Fingers crossed for both of them.

Just adding my vibes (again) for both Hope and Shell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that don't know, MA had to make one of the most difficult decisions she's ever made. Those are my words, not hers. But Shell has been released of her pain, knowing the truest love there is, and having received the best care possible.

Hi friends,
Yesterday was a very very sad day as we lost our little girl Shell. I will cut and paste something I wrote in response to one of MA's post in her blog, called "It Mattered":
Quote:
Oh MA, it did matter… so much!
Shell came like a hurricane – fast and furious, to show us: Pay attention! Look around, look at the forgotten, and when you pass them by, take a step back and take a second look… She came to show us how precious time is, how powerful love can be, and that there is still undeniable faith and beauty in humanity.
So many people from around the World came together to help saving her tiny little life… People who had never seen her, never touched her, but yet loved her like one of their own.
It was just so beautiful to watch… Shell was surrounded by angels… Now she is one of them…
Shell did matter… a lot… for each one of us who had the luck to be part of her journey….
Hang in there MA,
Love,
All of Us
I wanted to thank you all so much for being part of this beautiful Journey...
I also wanted to note here, that even though sweet Shell has ran to the bridge, she has left behind huge vet bills, so we will continue the auctions, and perhaps extend it to make sure MA has what she needs to cover those bills and take care of her babies .
The link for the auction is the same: http://catblogosphereauctions.blogspot.com/
There are two events running right now: Week 2, which ends midnight of April 4th, and there is also an Auction in Memory of Shell of a beautiful necklace that was made especially for her.
Both can be found on the page. When you open the auction page, you will see the necklace first - if you want to bid on it, place the bid right below it.
If you want to bid on the auction, scroll down to see the other items and make you comment in the end.
PM me if you have questions.
Thank you so much for your support, love, purrs, vibes and prayers...
