We're trapping again, and to help draw the kitties in, we put bird food out on the picnic table - the bird and squirrel activity is almost irresistible!

The regulars are enjoying it.

The squirrels are SO not worried about the kitties - it's very amusing to watch.

Little Black Kitty (she has that one dot of white at her neck) is just SUCH a cutie!

...and Baby is just a doll.

Honestly, these two are breaking our hearts. They no longer run when we feed them (haven't for months, actually), and they are just the MOST adorable things! I wish I could have videod Little Black Kitty chasing the snowflakes. They're both "wiggle butts" and play with EVERYTHING. Our deck is now littered with cat toys - and they USE them. (Most ferals won't bother with cat toys). And they LOVE catnip.

Baby showed up one day before the foster network agreed to take the three summer kittens that had turned up. They were full-to-busting, and we couldn't get a last-minute approval for a 4th.
And the first three were ready - but Baby was a "newbie" and terrified - and we understand, they have to concentrate on fostering adoptables, not kitties that may take months to come out from under the bed (so to speak). LBK showed up a few weeks after that.

THIS is when I really regret that we no longer live in a house, because these two NEED to be fostered so they can go to loving, furrever homes and be the spoiled kitties they should be.
They live here, and we really ought to officially name them.

And while there are three more regulars to the colony (and apparently quite a few more ferals as we've TNR'd like 7 already this past week) - they're older ferals, and not dependent upon us/here (entirely) for food and shelter. But I'm pretty sure Baby and LBK are.

I want to rename Little Black Kitty to Dot or Pearl because of her little white dot.

I think Baby ought to be Beegee. (BG - Baby Girl). But I think she'll always be "Baby."

That's too cool- we call Dorothy Dot a lot, and I call Genever Babygirl all the time too...

Then "Dot" it is!

This time around with the ferals we were "not naming" them in an attempt to not get emotionally involved.
Yeah, right!

They are so precious....Baby looks just like a feral kitty I fell in love with when I was working in Red Hook at a plant nursery!

This picture is her doppelganger! Right down to the white stripe up her nose

Wow, you remember her! She was so beautiful! Yes she was TNR'd and after that she was much more feral, and I couldn't blame her!
I so wish I could bring Maia home a little sister.......Baby is in our thoughts though, and if anything changes, you will know! I just realized you are in NJ!

Yup, it was a loaded question.

And I do remember - you were leaving the job, or it was a seasonal job - and you were really worried about what was going to happen to her. I think you used to let her into the hut (??) where the Xmas trees were? Something like that.

Gorgeous girls!!!!! Dot is adorable and so it BeeGee, both great names. I have the same predicament here, I feel like Yogi and Hokey are dependent on me, they are Magilla's brother's. The other cats are more independent. But these boys now let me come about ten feet from them and they don't run away anymore. Yogi will just come right out when he hears my voice. If we ever move, I would have to take them with me, I could never leave them behind.

Those are great pictures, maybe the squirrel would like to assist you in your trapping efforts
