I have three cats that I am trying to find a good home for. The story starts almost two years ago when I rescued these three and thought I would be able to find a home for all of them. I am an animal lover and can't see animals suffer. My husband and I got home from vacation to find one of the neighborhood cats and five dead kittens and one live one on the back porch. We didn't even know she was pregnant! I brought her in and she ended up having another a few hours later, which is the only one that lived. Kiki is the mom's name and Koko is what we named the boy kitten that she had. Then another neighborhood cat had kittens, and i discovered one of the little female kittens had a broken leg, so I took her in and got her leg fixed via surgery. I love all three of these cats, but I just don't have the time to give them the love and attention they need and our house is tiny! We are really wanting to have another child, but there is no way that I can take care of the house, kids, and animals. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't stand the thought of taking them to the shelter and chance them being put down. Any suggestions would help tremendously! Thanks!!

Welcome to TCS!

Bless you for taking these guys in. Unfortunately kitten season is rapidly approaching, and their chances of adoption then are slim. Adult cats are hard enough to find homes for.

We would be more than happy to help you come up with a workable solution to keep them in your household. We have members who have children & multiple cats - it can be done. Even if your house is small, you can create more room for them in vertical space (ie cat furniture).

The only other option I can think of is looking into a no-kill shelter. Their space is often limited, but it may be worth a shot.

If you can't keep them, I hope you find them good homes soon, before kitten season starts.

Thank you both! It is just so hard to take care of everyone with a full time job, plus I am going to school (online, but still time consuming). I think the biggest thing with having so many cats is the hair all over the place! Not to mention that I feel like I don't give them enough attention, even though outside around here would've been a lot worse I believe. They really are good pets, I just am not sure that I can keep my sanity! lol...I do not want to take them to the shelter, because ultimately I know what the outcome will be. I am going to try looking more into the no kill shelters, but I know they're usually full. Thanks again both of you for your encouragement

I can certainly understand your dilemma. It is hard to balance everything. But you did a wonderful thing to rescue them. If they are getting along with one another and not having any major problems, perhaps in time things will settle. I know the guilty feeling of not spending time with them, between work and housework and school, you are probably feeling overwhelmed.

But they are safe, thanks to you, and I know personally that the feeling of rescueing gives great satisfaction. I hope you can find the balance that you need.

Bless you for taking in and saving these cats. You are a saint for doing what you did, plus surgery for one of them!!!!!! I wish you the best in making your decision and a place for these wonderful cats. Cats and children can co-exist quite well, and we would love to offer you support anyway we can. I understand your concerns, though. But your kitties would be much happier staying with you and not even getting much attention than have to go to a shelter. Do you have any family members who are cat lovers? Or friends? Maybe even if you could place one of them that would ease your load slightly. I wish you good wishes and know this is a tough decision for you as you took them in to save them in the hopes of finding homes for them. It is amazing, isn't it, how quickly the time goes by. You must love them to have kept them this long, and I hope you can find a solution for them
