suggestions for a picky eater

Due to budget constraints, I have been feeding Holland Whiskas for about the past year. Since I'm employed now I would love to get her diet up to standard, but I'm not sure what to try. Right now, she eats wet food, about 3 ounces in the morning and 3 ounces at night, and measured free-fed dry food, about a quarter cup per day. Sometimes she eats all her dry, most days not quite.

I have tried several different wet foods with her, and what I've learned is: she absolutely refuses to eat pate style food. It's gotta be chunks or flakes. She likes seafood the best, will eat poultry, will not touch beef.

What are your suggestions for a higher quality wet food that is NOT pate style? Thanks!!

I know Wellness makes a chunky pouch variety.
And there's always the raw route if you're interested in that. That can come in a number of different varieties (ground, whole prey, frankenprey).

Here's my issue with raw (and I'm sure this will sound stupid... ): I've been vegetarian for many years because I can't stand animal cruelty. Even the thought of touching raw meat makes my stomach turn. I think I would be able to handle fish, but chicken, beef, pork (do cats even eat pork?)... I can't do it.

She likes the Whiskas chunky pouches, maybe I'll give Wellness a shot. Do you know if they sell them at pet stores? I'd like to be able to buy individual pouches until I can at least know what she'll eat. I've already given my sister-in-law's kitty TOO much cat food that has been purchased and rejected by Her Majesty.

Soulistic!! Its Neko's favorite and she's my picky eater. I try to rotate other brands and non-seafood items but she always just picks at the others...always finishing off her soulistic!!

I am a huge fan of soulistic. There are fish ones that are chunks in gravy and chunks in gelee, and both my cats will hoover theirs down, especially the shrimp and tuna in gelee.

I totally understand. I'm also a vegetarian actually. It's one of the reasons I've been sticking to commercial raw as opposed to whole prey so far. I find the commercial ground nuggets to be a bit more like mysterious chunks of cat food than animal parts.

And yup I've seen the Wellness pouches at both PetCo and PetSmart, as well as my local holistic pet store.

She might like Blue gourmet flaked chicken, Tolly is extremely picky and he likes it a lot. Blue has other flaked and sliced flavors too.

I agree with Soulistic. Misty is a very picky eater and she likes the Soulistic in gravy.

Where do you get it? I did a search and found it on amazon. It says $8.99 but it doesn't say how much you are getting for 8.99. $8.99 a can? A case? What the heck?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I plan to swing by the pet store this weekend for some new food! Here's hoping Her Majesty likes something
