Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Aw, things must be different out where you are. Here it's standard policy to manage things that way - if the cat isn't ready or in proper health to undergo anesthesia, they want kitty's mom or dad to be able to take them back home with them.

all went well and no complications!

Hurray! Tolly is done, no extractions! They said I could pick him up now except I have to work, oh how I wish I could pick him up early, but I don't want to leave him home alone until I get done with work so he will have to wait.

Thank you so much for all your support and vibes, it really really helps.

If I had it to do over again, I would've firmly requested this when I brought Holland in for her dental last year. I don't know what her vet would have said, but it sure would have helped me a LOT not having to drop her off with strangers, worrying about how scared and alone she was before they knocked her out.

I'm glad to hear that Tolly is doing well!

I'm so glad that everything went well for Tolly during his surgery!
I bet he can't wait for you to pick him up, and bring him home! You've got a beautiful cat there!

I was rolling on the floor laughing so hard. You know how, when a cat comes home smelling like vet, especially after anesthesia, usually it's the cats left at home doing the hissing, because the cat at the vet smells like a stranger now.

Well not my crew. Tolly was stalking around beating everyone up! Tolly, my sweet boy who loves everyone, was giving Mazy and Queen Eva what for every time they came near him. Queen Eva especially is beside herself wanting to sniff and Nurse him, Mazy, after two tries, simply put herself up out of Tolly's way.

Jennie, after observing all of this, chose to keep her distance.

Perhaps it's just that he didn't want to share me. He doesn't like to let me out of his sight since he's been home, he starts calling very loudly if he can't see me. Of course the very first thing I did was get on the floor and let him wind around me and bump his head up for kisses, while he told me all about it in very loud tones.

But Mazy and Queen Eva tried to come over to see him and he thumped them each to the floor. They backed away but he went after each of them again and thumped them down again. That was when Mazy decided it was safer up on the perch but Queen Eva continues to circle and sniff, but out of range.

While he was at the vet after his dental they put him in a big cage so he could have his carrier in there with him. So he could have "his stuff" with Himself. The tech said he just hung out in his carrier all afternoon.

Now we've been home a little while and Tolly's had quite a bit of supper and his first clindamycin tablet, he will be on them for five days.

The above post got so long I thought I'd make a new one to post some pics

Tolly resting after half an hour of telling me all about his trials and tribulations

After a snack (you can see where his IV was)

Nurse Queen Eva, while respecting Tolly's desire to not be pestered, is staying on the Job.

Tolly probably thinks the others should have changed their scent to smell like him.
no extractions.

Aw, Tolly is more than allowed to have a grumpy day!!
Poor little shaved leg, I remember Holland's all too well... and that was before she plumped up a little bit, she was so bony.

I'm glad Queen Eva is doing such a good job watching over him.

I guess Tolly didn't miss his siblings while he was at the vet?

I feel bad for Tolly having an IV. I know how much that hurt
Lynxx
, he kept that paw well hidden, he'd pull it under him, if we tried to to look at it or if anything touched it.

I'm glad Tolly's back home with you now, he's a cute cat
