What's the strangest food your cat/s like?

Midnight will go crazy for lettuce

Lettuce?! That is weird!
Maia tends to stick to her food, could care less about scraps but she does love to lick any bowl or plate, some more then others. I was shocked when she was licking up after tomato sauce

I can't keep ranch dressing on a plate or Tails will be all over me.

Sophie loves melon juice!

Jake likes lettuce too, he really goes crazy for it but I've never actually allowed him to try it because I haven't read that it's safe anywhere....
He also loves bananas more than anything, that and beef jerky are the only human food he will actually eat.

Squash - things from the squash family. I discovered a few months ago that he loves pureed pumpkin! Something about the smell had him sitting begging at the counter when I was putting it in some recipe. He never does that....has no desire for people food!

So, I put a little on a teaspoon and he went crazy for it, licking the spoon clean. Then last week, I fixed some Kabocha squash - (dryish winter squash) and he did the same thing, so I took a little bit and gave it to him and he ate it like I was giving him a treat, and wanted more!

Weird.

Pumpkin in small amounts is actually good for cats. It gives them a boost of fiber that helps with hairballs. Mine aren't much for people food so they don't have any strange likes just the usual. Tuna, yogurt, and a little tiny bit of ice cream as long as there's no chocolate. I rarely buy ice cream to keep at home and I now avoid chocolate so they can have a little.

Ooh! That's good to know! Thanks!

Tiger will come running from where ever he is in the house when he hears me crack open a yogurt. He LOVES yogurt. I only give him a little lick.....its so funny because I swear he is at my feet before I finish peeling off the cover.

Genever loves peanuts, I think that's the oddest people food she likes. Well really, whenever we are eating or snacking on the sofa, she'll jump up to check out whatever we have. She seemed really interested in the peanuts one time, so I gave her one, thinking she'd sniff it and turn away, but she ate it! So if we have peanuts, we let her have one too.

Oliver loves fresh spinach.

My Jazzy loves when I squeeze the juices from fresh cherries and oranges. She also likes bananas.

Cindy loves Baked Lays (Ruffles style). She will actually come running when she hears the bag and beg for some. One day DH dropped a bag on the floor that just had crumbs and next thing he knew there she was inside the bag. This is from a little fuss budget who won't eat half the things I put down for her -- I call her my little junk food junkie (No, she doesn't get chips most of the time, but I can't tell you what DH does when I'm not around).

Maverick used to love anything with tomatoes in it.

Gabriel like chips: he also has a sweet tooth. Samurai likes chips, too.

I once had a cat who liked bananas (I don't recall which one).

Foxy used to just love M&Ms: this was before I knew chocolate could be toxic to cats. I quit letting him have them when I found out - no matter how much he begged me!

Geronimo goes crazy over cashews & peanuts - which surprises me because if I put peanut butter in front of his nose he'll run off. Maverick used to hate the smell of peanut butter too, and would crinkle up his nose & gag if I tried sticking it under his nose.

Miagi likes chips especially doritos and cheetos cheese puffs. He loves cheerios too and tuna fish!

Tiger loves cream cheese and he loves turkey too.

Angel loves everything.

Kuan Yin will maul me if a can of spaghetti-os is opened. She's done this since kittenhood before she even had a chance to taste them. She is from a large feral community and her guessed bio dad apparently digs them out of the dumpster or the lunch room from the people who work at the mill where they live..apparently it's genetic

My RB kitty Patches also loved lettuce, but her favorite was marshmellows.

Xander isn't a very adventurous eater, but Riley's absolute favorite is mandarin oranges. He also loves pineapple and dill pickles among others

Oh, wow. I never put two and two together about why a certain food might drive a kitty crazy, but if a cat was feral and born and lived in a colony (as Larry was), it makes perfect sense that they would forage around to find food.....hence certain likes, sometimes.

Hmmm....maybe Larry found pumpkin and squash in the garbage, which makes me sad, sort of, thinking of him foraging through the trash. But that was 4 years ago. He's safe now.

Ritz doesn't like most people food, but does like to lick the bowl of (cooked) oat bran cereal. Sometimes she'll also lick the (plain) yogurt container. I don't let her have too much, but I deliberately leave them out for her to lick--she needs the fiber.

Fluffy will eat anything. When we have dinner that I have cooked I will always leave her a bit to lick off the plate. She loves her veggies. If it is something that might be bad for her, she can't have any, of course, but otherwise I can't see the harm. The others don't eat much except cat food.

I'm probably a bad dad in that respect, but my kitties know I am very protective of food, and so stay away and only sniff from a distance if its not obviously theirs and laid out for em. Getting too close while I'm preparing or eating food is a definite no-no, so not sure what else they might eat.

Had to do it after Wesley stole an ENTIRE lemon-garlic chicken leg off my plate shortly after first adopting him when I only had my back turned for a moment to get something out of the pantry...

I did give em a little organic mashed pumpkin and plain yogurt which they seemed to like.

When Speedboat was living, he loved popcorn and would catch it in the air. He also liked pecans and so does Muffin. Max used to get in the bags from the grocery store and eat fresh collards.

jericho's a lettuce eater too! hes obsessed with mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and french fries as well. but we rarely give him scraps. maybe just a little taste every now and then.

Moose loves sauerkraut!

My kitty Church likes bread. Sneakers likes Combos snacks, pretzels, and anything with tomato sauce (especially Chef Boyardee/Spaghetti-Os LOL). Not that I feed her these things, but she always tries to steal them, and when I tried showing her what it is figuring she'd go away when she saw it was just a pretzel or whatever, she just ate it instead. Most of the time, if my cats show interest in something I'm eating I offer it to them so they can sniff it and realize it's not something they want, but half the time Sneakers will want to eat it!
If I eat Spaghetti-Os or canned Ravioli or something and leave the bowl for even a minute when I'm done, she'll go try to lick it clean. She's even tried to stick her face in the bowl while I was still eating.

My previous cat Sylvia had weird tastes. If she got a whiff of olive juice (the stuff green olives in a jar come in) she would act like it was catnip and she would also lap it up. She also liked anything with blueberries in it a lot, such as blueberry bagels or muffins.
