Ziggy is in surgery--vibes, please.

I dropped Ziggy off at the vet's about an hour ago for removal of the cyst on his face and to check out another lump I'd found on his side. I shaved the hair over that place and circled the lump with a Sharpie.

Ziggy was so good in the car. Didn't make a peep, which helped me a great deal. My favorite tech was there, whom I've known since 7th grade. I sent a blankie with him so he can be wrapped up afterward. The tech said I could bring him home this afternoon.

So now we just wait and hope he does well in surgery and that the cyst/tumor is not a worrisome type. I am having pathological exam done on it to determine the exact thing it is.

I feel sad, scared and a little sick to my stomach. It will be a long day. Vibes appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Oh my! Poor Ziggy! Poor you! I know how upsetting this kind of thing is. I'm just on pins and needles when any of my furkids ever have to have any kind of medical procedure.

But, he's sure to come through just fine. Hopefully there will be some answers coming. I know people and animals that have to have skin growths removed regularly. But they just keep on trucking along.

Lots of going out from here to you and Ziggy!

Good luck, Ziggy!

I am sending up prayers for Ziggy all day. Know the sick feeling well....it's lousy.

I hope it is nothing but a cyst as well as the other area too.

He is such a cutie....I love that pic of him on the lost kitten pics!

Tina just called. Ziggy is out of surgery and already sitting up. He's doing well.

She said the spot on his side was a "dermoid" cyst and nothing to worry about, although they did remove it. The one by his eye will be sent away to Texas A & M, so she didn't even venture a guess about what that could be.

I will be picking him up around 4 pm today.

You have NO idea how much I appreciated getting that call! I hadn't even asked her to do it.

Now we wait.....will keep you posted on the pathology.

Thank you for the vibes. We're over the first hurdle!

I'm so happy for you and Ziggy! I'm glad the cyst was nothing serious!

So glad to hear the procedures went well with no complications! We recently went through this with Ming Loy and there were complications, and it was gut wrenching.

on the pathology!

Thanks. I wish I could go get him right now. As it is, I now can't stop eating chocolate, cookies, candy, etc. I'm not happy unless everyone is home safe and sound!

Less than 4 hours.

Well, I think given all YOU'VE been through, that's actually good news. Now that I quit smoking... I guess I'd probably have to chomp straws or something.

Adding in my ! Any idea how long you have to wait on the pathology report?
Oh Callie!!! I do hope and pray that Texas sends back a good report. I know "lumps" can be sssssooooooo scary!! I'm glad he's doing well and bless the tech's heart for putting you at ease with that phone call. It means so much when they know and understand how much our babies mean to us. You will be in my prayers...

I picked up my daughter from school and then we went to pick up Ziggy. My daughter isn't much of a "pet person" generally (to my great sorrow) but she INSISTED on carrying Ziggy to the car, held the carrier on her lap all the way home and then asked if she could feed him his dinner. I told her he needs to wait a bit before eating, so he doesn't get sick.

He has a rather large incision on his side and a nice neat one on his face. Bless his heart, he lost some whiskers in the shave. Brillo ran right to him when we got home. She seems concerned about his incision.

Incision on side:

Incision on face as he bolted his meat:

I don't know when the pathology report will be ready. It didn't take a long time with Sheba, and they were so busy when I picked him up, I didn't ask. We are supposed to go back on 3/3 for suture removal. It will probably be ready then.

Anyway, it's good to have him back.

Now we wait.

Thank you for all the kind words. They've really helped.

Thats great thing went that well with the surgery.

I had a small cyst removed from Kasey's underside last December; it is a LONG day waiting for that call.

Seeing Ziggy's stitches reminded me of Kasey's. I thought they did a rough job on her but that seems to be how a cat goes when they get stiches. Cats seem to have a bit "extra" skin so it puckers a bit.

Kasey's healed up and the area is smooth again, I am sure Ziggy's will do the same.

I'm just now seeing this. for a good result on the biopsy.

I spent the whole day with Merlin in surgery and just got back with him a little while ago. So nervewracking. At least I don't have to wait for any results.

Thanks again for the concern, compliments, and good wishes.

Ziggy had a rough early morning (poo problems) but is better this afternoon after sleeping most of the day. I just saw him gingerly facemarking dh's desk chair with the incised side of his face.

I will post pathology results when I get them. Keep the vibes coming, please.
