Thanks! Yes on the thyroid level - within normal range. Creatinine is normal, BUN less than last time, ALT and AST slightly more elevated, but bilirubin is normal. Our vet isn't overly concerned about the elevated liver enzymes at this point since Katie seems ok otherwise and her appetite has been good. Will definitely keep an eye on this, though.

For now, the plan is return next week to have her blood pressure checked again and see if the increased meds are having an effect. Unless anything changes, we'll do another blood panel next month, the determine the next steps.

Thanks, guys!

Did they do a standard thyroid test or the more comprehensive free t4 test? Any illness can lower the thyroid on the normal so when she goes back it might be worth doing the free t4 to see if it is just being suppressed

That is good news then about the bloodwork. I sure hope she is feeling better soon and the trip to the vet next week shows that her blood pressure is in the normal range.... More

It was the T4 test.

Had Katie back at the vet yesterday so they could check her blood pressure.
It was slightly elevated, but much closer to normal range than before we increased her meds. Her appetite still isn't the best some days, but she makes up for it on others. Her weight remain steady. So, we'll continue to monitor her blood pressure and repeat the blood work in a few weeks.

Thanks for the update! Tolly is like that, he will eat well one day and then not be hungry the next, you'd think after 12 years of it I'd stop worrying on the days he isn't hungry, but nope.

Anyway glad to hear Katie is holding her weight, and the BP has gone down.

Eileen, I'm sorry for the worry, but so glad to hear the good news!

Just an update on my mostly sweet, sometimes cranky senior girl - we returned to vet last week for another check on her BP and another senior panel. BP is fine, so we'll continue on the daily meds. Results of the blood work were good - all levels are now within acceptable range, so vet feels it was hypertension that was causing the elevated liver enzymes. Still keeping an eye on her appetite, which is still iffy at times, and her weight.

Not too shabby for an almost 18 year old kitty!

Thanks so much for the vibes!

Receiving compliments from a handsome younger kitty like Dexter, no doubt does wonders for Katie's health (and ego).

Thanks, everybody!
