Hi, Everyone. I plan to bring home a seal tortie bicolor baby (picture courtesy of her breeder) in August. And though I've started my name list (to find *the* right one), I'd like your suggestions. (FYI: I prefer two-syllable, "typical" female names, rather than those of cartoon characters, inanimate objects, etc.)

Thanks,

Jenk

Are you looking for exotic names or just cute "human" names?

We've got a member on here Yzma and I just love her "real" name. It's Suraya. When I seen that picture, that was the first name that popped in my head! What a beautiful kittie!

Shell,

I prefer "real" names; exotic ones (like Suraya) fall within that category (as long as they're something you'd consider giving to a human child).

For some reason, when I saw her, the name "Clara" popped into my head! lol.

Maybe an Ella? Chloe? Molly? Sophie?

jmvito,

This will be my second kitty, but I also have two birds. My husband says "no more animals" after this girl comes home with us. I must concur.... *sigh* We can't offer enough time/ money/ energy to five pets.

She's absolutely gorgeous!

I saw Susie and Daisy and Sadie in the offerings -- they kind of speak to me. I also wondered about Celeste, or Shauna, or Cissy. I tend to favour names with as many sibilants as possible -- I gather they are attractive to kitties -- and like you, I prefer names that I would give to a child -- they're my kids, after all!

I'll bet you can hardly wait for the arrival of your little darling. Who could blame you??

If I ever had a daughter or a female kitty, I would name her Emma. I love that name. Her full name would be Emma Jane. Jane after Jane Austen, my favorite author. Emma after the heroine in her book "Emma". One of my all time favorite books.
