Lucky needs a a lot of vibes.....

Something I would not expect... Lucky is my healthy cat.... aside from hairballs, she is totally healthy.... wait, hairballs?
Yep - that got her.
Lucky started turning away from her food a few days ago... getting finicky. Then day before yesterday everything she ate, even a couple of kibbles, she would regurgitate. Time for a trip to the vet. She spent the day in yesterday.
Severe hairball + Severe constipation. They gave her an enema, subQ, force-fed her, gave her nutrical, a Vitamin B shot to stimulate her appetite... I was also sent home with oral electrolytes to give her.
I was told to wait until today and increase her hairball paste considerably - had to wait due to her having an enema yesterday. Vet also suggesting shaving her off - not happening for now, I tell you.
Good news is so far no vomiting, so she definitely got "unplugged" with the enema.
Bad news is she is not eating at all on her own. Well, I am obviously not leaving it up to her - I am syringe feeding her 1oz every 2 hours. I also started her on an appetite stimulant (with the vet's blessing), as I can't force-feed her forever...
No luck with the electrolytes... I try, but she is not coordinated enough for liquids, and aspirates - doesn't matter where/how slow I aim, she still does...
Well... This is what is going on... if you can spare vibes for her... I would really appreciate it... If you could spare a few my way too... It would be great... I am overwhelmed... I was not ready for this... I was ready for some rest after Bugsy... Things are still iffy with him... Gracie is doing Fantastic, but I am still treating her Thyroid too. I just want peace, and healthy cats. That is all.
Sorry to be a downer, and for taking a while to post this - I debated if I should bore you guys with yet another heath issue.

So sorry that Lucky is sick. Hopefully now that she's feeling a bit better, she'll start to realize food is not the enemy!

No advice, but lots of to offer!

Awwwww. Vibes for Lucky.

Hope she gets back on track soon.

Oh Carolina!! I've always got plenty of vibes for your babies!! I do hope Lucky regains her health and gets her appetite back. A meowmy's work is never done, is it!

Oh, no, it's really been one thing after another with your fur kids recently. No wonder you're feeling down! Tons of for both Lucky and you!

Awww Lots of coming her way

Does she have hairball kibbles at all?

Sorry Lucky is feeling poorly. Lots of going out to her that she's herself very soon.

And lots of and going to you, too. No wonder you're tired and overwhelmed with all you've been through. Two out of 4 cats having health issues is too much. But 3 out of 4 is beyond a reasonable load.

But I see through my crystal ball that all will be doing much better soon. Be good to yourself and look after yourself. Be sure to have some fun and do things to relax.

And, I am never tired of hearing about your kitties - both the ups and downs.

I know how you feel, Carolina. It's been crazy around here lately too with my furkids. They ALL got sick with a dreadful URI last September: it was not a pretty sight.

I hope Lucky gets well soon, and I hope you have no other health problems for a loooong time to come.

I am sorry to hear that Lucky is sick. Prayers and vibes that she will be better quickly, and your kitty family will all be well, you too, of course. You must feel like you have been run through a wringer.

Oh Carolina, please always ask for vibes/prayer from all of us here. WE are one big cat family and care about eahother's cats. Many vibes for Lucky I am sorry he is not feeling well.

Oh honey, I totally understand! I am so sorry you have gone through so much lately with the cats. I am in the same boat. Things are better with our diarrhea and we have been formed for a week now, but it started stinking again today, which I don't like. We are still on meds. And, I looked at Blue's skin "cancer" spot today and it has a black spot in the middle now that has never been there before. Back to the vet we go too. I feel ya on just needing a break from med issues and wanting healthy cats!

To use a corny cliche: when it rains, it pours. When 2 of mine were diagnosed with cancer last year, I took a deep breath and told myself I'd get through it. I find they respond to treatment much better when I remain calm. Mine always stress out when I'm stressed out. I know it's not easy to do.

Sending huge vibes for Lucky and hugs to you!!

Oh Carolina, this really is too much!

But I do agree with Robin - once you come out the other side of this one, I think you'll get a much needed break!!!!

Peace and healthy cats! Thats the ultimate.

Prayers going up for Lucky. I never found the hairball paste worked for me. My sons cat is on Miralax. And he is a long haired kitty that had really severe constipation.

I don't think I would ever try the paste again now that I see how this works.

I hope giving it a day or two, Lucky will come around. It's so hard when our kids are sick.....

Good news! Lucky is eating on her own! Yey! I force-fed her twice today, and decided to buy some hairball food to see if she would eat. Now, in normal circumstances I would do a 10-day switch, but on this case, the most important thing is obviously for her to eat. So, she is on a crash-change of diet. If you will judge me, please don't... she was just not eating her food at all, and she can't be force fed forever... The vet wants her on a hairball formula, so I have to do what I have to do, and this is it, unfortunately I don't have a choice here.
Anyways, I bought 4 brands, and she liked them all, but the one she preferred was ProPlan Hairball Formula. My plan will be to feed her on a schedule, am and PM, when I feed Bugsy and Hope their wet food. This way I can lock her up in the bathroom for 15 minutes or so for her to eat. Hopefully the remaining of the time she will snack on the other food (HP 23, Hope's and Bugsy's) I can not free feed her food, since Bugsy and Hope have IBD and Allergy.
Her vet told me to wait until tomorrow and watch her poop - if she has diarrhea, give her a dose of DiaGel. Today her poop is SO hard, it almost needs a nut cracker to be cracked open - seriously. It is that hard and dry. My girl is seriously constipated I don't even know how that thing came out of her... I can't give her laxatives as she had a pretty drastic change of food, so all I can do is wait until tomorrow.
For now I am just happy that she is eating and she hasn't thrown up since she got back from the vet... I am trying to address one problem at a time, as they come.
She is in high spirits, and her personality is completely normal. She also had a good drink of water tonight, so I am happy about that too...
I will keep you all posted tomorrow! Thanks for all the vibes, we really really appreciate it!
