Question About User Skins (Quick Style Chooser)

I changed my skin color to something different than what I had previously, but it's not staying "locked in" like it did before and I have to keep changing it back to what I want every time I log on. I know that there should be a way to lock it in so I don't have to keep changing it, but I don't remember how. Any suggestion?

To make the change stick, you have to go to User CP (top left) ---> Edit Options --->(scroll down to) Miscellaneous Options ---> Forum Skin and set it in the drop-down box.

Okay, I don't know what's going on, but every time I log off of TCS then back in again, I have to change the user skin again - even though I did what you said, JCat.

Did you click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page? Which skin are you trying to set? Red Tabbies? Right now you have "Night Vision" set - I'll change it from my end to see if it sticks.

Yes, I did click save changes. I was using Red Tabbies but changed it now to Night Vision. If you change it on your end, I'd prefer the Night Vision one.

It looks like it's set to Night Vision. that it stays there.

No such luck. I don't know why it's not sticking. I never had that problem before when I had it set on the June contest one. Did you set it on your end, JCat?

I checked to see whether it was set to Night Vision, which it is. Try emptying your cache - that's under tools if you're using Firefox.

Not to sound like an idiot, but what's cache? Is that the same thing as cookies? If it is, I just did that about two days ago, and it didn't make any difference...

FWIW, if you keep seeing it set to Night Vision it's because I reset it every time I log on.

Cache is temporary storage of data for quick retrieval. You can empty it under FF Tools-->Clear Recent History. I don't know whether it will help, but don't know what else to try, because your settings are fine.

I checked it and I have my settings set to clear everything automatically every time I close FF, so I guess that's not the problem.

Don't worry about it JCat. You've done all you could. I had to contact KatieMae for another matter, and while I did I asked her if she could possibly straighten it out for me. If it can't be fixed, it's no big deal: I'll just have to continue to change it myself if I so desire. It's more of a nuisance than anything...
