Since I don't travel much, I'm curious:

What is the farthest you've been away from home? Maybe some fond memories from that trip?

(please don't give your location unless you are ok with that, but a general such as: I live in ON, Canada and when I was 11 I got to go to Portugal)

I live in Illinois, and I am not much of a traveller, but did go to Cancun, Mexico for my twentieth wedding anniversary. Riviera Maya has the most serene, white, beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Well, I haven't seen many. But they were gorgeous. We had the most relaxing vacation of our lives thus far. MAN, I need another one!!!!

I haven't been very far, but I think the farthest was Gothenburg (Göteborg) in Sweden. My uncle lived there for a while when I was very young (maybe 6?) and we were visiting him there.
I remember that I forgot my swedish Donald Duck book in a taxi, and there were these funny arch/U-shaped apartment buildings. We also visited an awesome amusement park called Liseberg.

As you can see by my location, I live in NYC. The furthest away I've been is the UK. I used to travel to England once a year and take two weeks - spend a few days in London, seeing shows, then off for 10 days or more exploring a specific region and hiking around and staying in B&Bs. *sigh* It was wonderful. I love the UK.

And I spent the month of August in Edinburgh, for 4 years in a row, acting at the Fringe. I would always set aside a week beforehand or afterwards to explore specific areas of Scotland.

Did I mention I love the UK?

I have two homes, which are 6000 miles apart
One in the East Coast US, another in Eastern Europe.
Most places I've been to have been in between that distance though, like Western Europe, I've never been to Asia or Australia, or South America. I really want to go though. I also haven't been to the west coast US.

I live in New Jersey (by way of New York) and I think the farthest I've ever been away is Vancouver, it was beautiful there. Also went to Denver Colorado. Don't know which one is furthest but loved them both.

I live in NJ USA and the farthest I have traveled is to Italy and Spain on two different trips. Loved both of them and have fond memories.

I've been to Korea. That's probably about as far as I can go east and west. Australia might be just a little farther away. I wouldn't mind making that trip since I've always wanted to visit there.

I live in Vancouver BC, and the farthest I have travelled was to central Mexico. It was wonderful, and I'd certainly go back, though I'm not really a traveller at heart.

Since I'm not sure where I'm really from, how do I know how far I've been from there? LOL. I now live in the middle of the US. I grew up in Japan. Since they're on opposites sides of the world I guess one of them is farthest from the other
. I've been to Orlando FL, San Diego CA, El Paso TX, Rhode Island and New York. Popped into Mexico when in TX and into Canada when in NY, but didn't go very far. Our plane once stopped in Korea but we weren't allowed to get out. And we had a layover in Alaska once, but we didn't go anywhere other than Burger King.

I now live in the Philippines. The farthest I've been to (if you travel west from Manila) and where I spent 10 years of my life was in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Florida is the furthest I've been. It was the worse trip I've ever been on. It was so hot and humid! It didn't help that I woke up with a bug the size of Texas on my hand, and screamed my brains out. The hotel let us switch rooms. The other room was fine, but the other people we were with had the same bug in their room. I was in 11th grade, believe me I wished I had stayed home and gone to school that week. My cousins (the 1's that were still in school) wished the same thing!

I'd like to go on a vacation to Canada
