..And Blue Kitty's coat is looking amazing! He hasn't been this pretty since he was young! I have to assume it is the food since that is the only change we have made recently (surely it is not the Albon

What in Blue Wilderness would make this happen? We were using Purina One (Senior Cat food) before the change.

It is too fast for it to be the current food... Unless you bathed them and thoroughly brushed them.. The coat cycle is 60-90 days for a full turn over

It really is too soon for the new diet to make any changes in the coat yet as it's only been a week!!
But Blue is a much better quality food by far than Purina.

Maybe Blue kitty just looks healthier because the diarrhea has stopped and he is more hydrated.

I don't see why a week is considered "too soon." I have most certainly seen this kind of rapid coat improvement on better diets.

I'm not sure why people often assume that hair has to literally fall out and grow back for there to be a change in texture. It doesn't.

The oils in the coat/skin can have a dramatic impact on fur texture (just as they do with human hair texture). That's probably what causes the rapid change so many people notice in fur quality when switching to a diet more rich in healthy fats and oils.

Have you ever heard of the "placibo effect"? In humans, I mean? Why not complete the experiment and switch her back to Purina for a week, and see what happenes to her fur? Take "before and after" photos. Then you'll be sure...
