Kitty Mash made for kitties

I gotten paranoid of the ethoxyquin, BHA/BHT, Propylene glyco used as preservatives in kitty kipples and decided to make mash for kitties based on what I have done for birdies.

This was how I made it. Perhaps you might think of doing the same too.

My kitties seemed to love it.

The top half of the freezer, including that Twist icetray is packed with Tinkerbell Mash batch 9 for Riamfada my Grey parrot.
Those frozen Wyman's mixed berries are for Riamfada by the way.

The bottom half of the freezer is packed with Kitty Mash. I barely have some space left for my icecream and human food. Isn't that pathetic?

I don't know where you live, but in the US, it's quite easy to find a kibble or canned food that does not contain BHA/BHT, ethoxyquin, or propylene glycol.

Cats have no dietary need for beans or grains, and soy in particular can be quite problematic for them. Ground beef does not contain sufficient taurine to keep cats healthy. While your mash could be a good treat, if fed as a regular diet it could cause some deficiencies. There is a lot of info available about making a balanced home-prepared diet for cats, if you look in the "raw feeding" sub-forum I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful advice.

Making something like that is good for when kitten has had reactions to packaged food. My vet gave me a recipe that includes KMR milk replacement, cottage cheese, and baby rice cereal. It worked wonders on my sensitive siamese kitten. A little more complete too.
